Abstract: A mold for the production of molded concrete bricks has mold recess bodies guided in openings in side walls of a mold insert, which openings are adapted to the contours of the recess bodies, in order to produce recesses in a molded concrete brick produced using this mold. The recesses reach all the way to the underside of a brick, and are supported on one or more sections of the edging of the opening. The wall thickness of the mold insert side wall can have a greater wall thickness in the region of the recess bodies. Preferably, the mold includes multiple mold inserts, and recess bodies that are similar in terms of position and movement direction are coupled mechanically with one another in their movement, and can be displaced together via common drive devices.

  • Patent number: 7361296
Abstract: A motor vehicle wheel frame is integrally molded in a split mold including a lower mold portion (12) and a complemental mold portion. Channel-like spoke forming formations (12.1) receive layers (24.1) of molding material wrapped around heat expanding, resilient intensifiers (20) which are inwardly checked by resilient locking inserts (22) partially within a hub cavity and abutting a cylinder (18). During demolding, after curing, the locking inserts (22) and thereafter the intensifiers (20) are removed by longitudinally stretching and cross-sectionally reducing them, leaving the spokes hollow. During curing, the heat expanding intensifiers pressurize the spoke forming layers of molding material against the mold portions.

Abstract: An impression device for food items. More particularly, the present invention is a stamping device designed to create images upon a variety of foods for decoration and/or marketing purposes. The stamper device of the present invention has the general appearance of a traditional rubber stamp, with large knob at the top to quickly adjust the depth of embossings. Small wings beside the knob provide an instant feature for orientation and comfortable ergonomic grip. The device provides both an emboss-only mode, and emboss-and-cut simultaneously mode, much in the manner of a cookie cutter. A simple snap means located at the bottom of the device functions to change such modes. Under the base of the device is a “socket set” style snap-in stamping die. As is the case with the roller device, the stamper device may be utilized for: 1) standard messages and images; 2) snap-in letters, which allows the user to assemble his or her own custom message; or 3) custom logos, messages, and images.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a pre-cast panel form insert used in precast construction. The insert comprises a substantially planar portion defining dimensions suitable to complement dimensions of a pre-cast panel form and a fluid diverting portion. The fluid diverting portion is configured to define a fluid-diverting recess in an edge face of a pre-cast panel bounded by a form including the form insert. The fluid diverting portion is configured such that said fluid diverting recess defines, a circular cross-sectional profile, or a multi-angular cross-sectional profile, that impedes the flow of water along said pre-cast panel edge face when said edge face assumes a substantially horizontal orientation.

Abstract: A protective sleeve system for use by plumbers during installation of riser pipes in buildings, surrounds a pipe and maintains a space around the pipe. A sleeve surrounds the pipe such that a space is defined between the pipe and the sleeve and a plurality of spacers disposed between the sleeve and the pipe, maintain the space between the pipe and the sleeve. The plurality of spacers are separate from the sleeve. An annular cover ring covers the annular space. In use, the protective sleeve system is installed prior to pouring the concrete floor. After pouring and setting of the concrete floor, the cover ring is removed, followed by the removal of the spacers. The sleeve is then cut to floor level and the pipe riser is cut down to a suitable level.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for handling large concrete retaining wall blocks and the like. The blocks are cast in a form with the front face down, a lifting loop extending from a rear face and with grooves extending in sides from a rear face to adjacent the front face. A spear hook is secured to one of two fork lift tines to extend to one side of the tine away from the other tine. The spear hook engages the lifting loop on the block for lifting the block from the form and for rolling the block into an upright position. The fork lift tines then engage the side grooves from the rear of the block for lifting and moving the blocks and for stacking the blocks to construct a retaining wall.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming a member, such as a column. The invention comprises inner and outer molds that are spaced apart forming a cavity for receiving a viscous material for making the member. A core is inserted within the inner area of inner mold when the viscous material is initially disposed within the mold. Once the material attains a gelled state, an extraction member is inserted within the inner area. A vacuum is applied to the inner area that causes the flexible inner mold to separate from the material and conform to the extraction member allowing for removal.
