  • Patent number: 11174130
Abstract: A pulley for an elevator includes a base body made e.g. from steel and having a rotation-symmetrical circumferential surface. Additionally, a friction reducing coating is applied to the circumferential surface of the base body. Due to the friction reducing coating and, optionally, due to additionally smoothing the base body's circumferential surface before depositing the coating, a very low friction between an outside surface of the pulley and a contacting surface of a suspension traction member may be obtained. Thereby, guiding characteristics of the pulley may be improved and/or alignment requirements upon installation of the pulley may be relaxed. Preferably, the coating may comprise diamond-like carbon (DLC) or chromium nitride (CrN) such that the coating provides for superior wear resistance, slickness, corrosion protection and electrical characteristics.

Abstract: A winch includes a motor and a rotatable drum drivingly attached to the motor. The rotatable drum includes an anchor pocket therein. A cable includes a proximal end connected to the rotatable drum by an anchor received in said anchor pocket with the cable wrapped around the anchor. The anchor includes a first slot in a surface thereof and the rotatable drum includes a second slot therein adjacent to the anchor pocket that allows access to the first slot in the anchor. An edge of the second slot forms a fulcrum point for a pry tool inserted into the first and second slots for freeing the anchor from the anchor pocket.

Abstract: A well pump extractor, which includes a base rotably supporting a spindle, a pipe guide, and a pipe catch, extracts a well pump from within a well by winding electrical wiring attached to the pump around the spindle. During an extraction, a pipe guide guides the path of water pipe connected to a pump. If the electrical wiring fails mechanically during an extraction, the pipe catch catches the water pipe, which prevents the pump from falling to the bottom of the well.

Abstract: A well pump puller, which includes a base, a support element supporting a spindle, and an elastic element, extracts a well pump from within a well by winding electrical wiring attached to the pump around the spindle. During an extraction, at least a portion of any arising yank forces are absorbed by deformation of the elastic element, which reduces the risk of the wiring failing mechanically. A spindle can include a rotation element for rotating the spindle; a spindle lock and safety latch to limit rotation of the spindle; a wire guide to guide the wire; a pipe guide to guide a water pipe connected to the pump; a pipe catch to catch the pipe if the wiring fails; and a drill abutment that can abut a drill used to rotate the rotation element.

Abstract: A mechanical apparatus that lowers and raises a turkey, or similar food item, into a large fry pot is herein disclosed. The apparatus has a vertically-adjustable tripod stand that is positioned over the top center of a fry pot. A manual cranking mechanism lowers and raises a steel cable having a grasping hook at the distal end. Additionally, the steel cable can have a basket at its distal end. In operation, the turkey to be fried is placed thereon the hook or therein the metal basket. Then, with the user a safe distance removed, the crank lowers the food into the hot oil in a controlled manner. When the food has finished cooking, the cranking mechanism is reversed to raise the food from the fryer. The apparatus may also be provided having an alternate electric-powered winch.
