  • Patent number: 11639314
Abstract: A porous fired granulated body is formed by consolidating numerous alumina particles to each other while letting mainly interconnected pores remain in network form across an entire cross section of a granulated body particle. The pores have an inner diameter controlled by a droplet diameter of a pore forming agent and have numerous precipitated alumina crystals formed on inner surfaces thereof. Manufacture is performed by spraying the pore forming agent (emulsion) onto a raw material to form a coating layer of the pore forming agent on a surface of the raw material particle and controlling the inner diameter of the pores. A porous fired granulated body of alumina having a high specific surface area and having higher strength for the same specific surface area can thus be provided by a simple manufacturing method.

Said drum and procedure use a system and a phase of recirculation of gases as part of the invention. Additionally, in the agglomeration procedure the process of chemical reactions occurring inside the agglomeration drum is included. The agglomeration drum, agglomeration procedure and the reactive process allow to obtaining uniform, stable and poorly degradable agglomerates that have a bigger agglomerate-reagent contact surface. The agglomerates or aggregates produced in the agglomeration drum and according to the process of the invention increase the extractive yield of the later leaching process, thus reducing the creation of preferred ways for the leaching solution in the leaching piles.

Abstract: A method for producing powder from a coarsely granular, thermoplastic material, comprising a homogenizing first device produces a first melt from a non-homogeneous pre-mixture of the material; first chips are produced from the first melt in a second device; the chips are milled to a powder; the powder is separated into at least two fractions with coarser and finer particle sizes; and a selected fraction with finer particle sizes is returned to the method prior to milling; wherein a second melt is produced from the selected fraction in a non-homogenizing third device, with second chips being produced from the latter, and the second chips are combined with the first chips and milled with each other.

Abstract: Improved solventless processing technology for additive blends containing a polymer carrier, including those which have high level of additives, is described. High concentrations of low-melting, sticky additives lead to phase separation and extrusion instability, such that pellets cannot be formed from such additive blends by traditional extrusion process. These blends include those with a high level of active additives that have been described in the literature as Type A Superblends. Here a polymer typically acts as the carrier of the additives. The new and improved technology involves the solid state compaction processing, using a tubular die, of such impossible-to-pelletize additive blends of the Type A composition to produce commercially useful pelletized additive blends.
