  • Patent number: 11263874
Abstract: A cash cassette includes a housing, a pick-up module, a push plate, and one or more separator modules. The housing has a dispense end, a floor, and a size suitable to store multiple notes. Each note has a particular note edge. The pick-up module is disposed at the dispense end of the housing and is configured to transfer one note at a time out of the housing. The push plate is movably disposed inside the housing and is configured to bias the notes against the pick-up module. The separator modules are disposed on the floor of the housing proximate to the pick-up module. Each separator module has a rough surface that engages the particular note edges as the notes are pushed onto the separator modules by the push plate. The rough surface loosens individual notes from each other as the notes move across the separator modules toward the pick-up module.

Abstract: A cut sheet feeder for feeding stacked sheets of material including a feed support deck defining a planar surface for supporting the stacked sheet material and a transport deck defining an inclined surface relative to the planar surface of the feed support deck. The inclined surface is operative to transport additional sheet material to the feed support deck and produce a cantilevered sheet material delivery profile. Furthermore, a rotating element is employed to engage a surface of the stacked sheet material, and separate a single sheet from other sheet material supported by the feed support deck. The cantilevered delivery profile reduces the weight acting on the stacked material, minimizes the friction developed between individual sheets of material and facilitates separation of the sheets by the rotating element. A platen structure may also be employed to bear against the stacked sheet material to ensure reliable sheet material run out.

  • Patent number: 6328300
Abstract: The present invention provides an aligner apparatus which bottom edge aligns documents and separates documents and provides adequate gap between documents for subsequent processing. The an aligner apparatus includes first and second guide walls, forming an alley along the document feed path in which the documents are relieved of interdocument forces allowing bottom edge alignment of the documents with the document feed path. A trap assembly including first and second trap levers is lever mounted along the document feed path on a side of the guide wall and when actuated, cause opposing forces on one-another in order to grab the documents as they move along the feed path in the aligner apparatus so as to control the gap between the documents. It apparatus further provides an adequate gap between documents while reducing noise. Each trap lever has a head portion which is fitted with a resilient pad which is attached to the trap arm in a manner that forms a gap between the head and the pad.

  • Patent number: 6220590
Abstract: The invention pertains to a hopper loader apparatus for separating and forming an overlapping shingled stream of individual signatures of sheet materials from a vertically aligned, parallelepiped shaped stack of such signatures for subsequent handling operations. The hopper loader has a slippage resistant belt which engages a bottom edge of each signature and assists in preventing the signatures from slipping by keeping them upstanding. Preferably the slippage resistant belt has an array of projections extending upwardly from a belt surface which secures the signatures in place. This produces a smooth, regular, even signature stream. Individual signatures flow reliably, one-by-one off of the downward conveyor to another conveyor.

  • Patent number: 6179283
Abstract: A method for controlling an intermediate stacking device for flat shipments, in particular in letter sorting facilities, comprising a stacking device (SR) on a movable stacking cart (SW), a bottom transporting belt (UB) on which the shipments are positioned crosswise to the belt movement direction, and a separating device with a withdrawal means (AR), as well as a shipment sensor (FH2), which detects the shipments at the separating device. In order to correct without problems a slanted position of the shipment stack at the separating device, the normal operational control of the intermediate stacking device becomes invalid if a predetermined time interval during which no shipments are detected at the withdrawal means (AR) is exceeded, the supply of shipments to the intermediate stacking device is interrupted, the bottom transporting belt (UB) is stopped, and the stacking cart (SW) is put into motion in the direction of the separating device.
