Abstract: The present disclosure provides articles of manufacture with improved moisture control as well as methods of making such articles. In some embodiments, provided herein the article has a fabric with an outer hydrophobic surface and an inner surface with hydrophobic and hydrophilic regions where the hydrophilic regions can form a pattern, allowing moisture to collect and move through the pattern, and the hydrophobic regions prevent the whole inner surface from becoming moist and the outer hydrophobic regions does not show moisture. The fabric may be used to make garments. The entire inner surface of the garment may be patterned with hydrophilic patterns for partial absorption, and the entire outer surface of the garment is hydrophobic, thereby preventing perspiration from being seen from outside of the garment. Further provided herein are methods of making fabrics with improved moisture control including by printing or knitting.

Abstract: A fabric made of yarns interlooping with each other or passing through an inner layer at looping intervals. The fabric is embossed with a micro-pattern extending into the yarns or into a layer underneath the fabric. The micro-pattern contains a pre-defined pattern of a plurality of binding points attaching the yarns to the inner layer or to the added underlayer. This micro-pattern has an inter-point spacing between adjacent binding points that is less than the interlooping intervals. The fabric can also be embossed with a macro-pattern separate from and coarser than the micro-pattern. • Patent number: 10612167
Abstract: A blended fabric having a patterned color includes a first portion comprised of cotton and a second portion comprised of polyester. A dye that has a strong affinity for cotton and a slight affinity for polyester is applied to the fabric. The dye gives the cotton portion a deep black color and applies a light gray color to the polyester portion. A combination of deep black cotton and light gray polyester combines to provide the patterned color of the blended fabric. The blended fabric may be comprised of a larger percentage of cotton than polyester that is spun into a single filament yarn that is then knitted into a Jersey Knit styled fabric, a looped knit terry fabric, or a fleece fabric. Further, the present invention comprises a blended fabric whereby dye absorption by the cotton and not by the polyester create darker and lighter patterns within the blended fabric.

  • Patent number: 10190253
Abstract: Nanoparticle treated fibrous articles, such as fabrics, fibers, filaments, or yarns, include a plurality of exposed, nonionic metal nanoparticles non-covalently affixed thereto. Metal nanoparticles, particularly spherical-shaped metal nanoparticles which have solid cores, can be strongly affixed to fibrous articles without covalently bonds and/or without being encapsulated within a polymer or adhesive. Spherical metal nanoparticles appear to adhere to fibrous articles by Van der Waals forces. Because they are nonionic, spherical nanoparticles are not easily removed by solvents, water, surfactants, and soaps and remain after several washings, sometimes up to 50 or more washings. Nonetheless, they readily detach from fibrous articles when contacted by microbes and then kill or denature the microbes.

In addition, the at least one intra-articular section has at least one single continuous fiber traversing the at least one intra-articular section and the at least two knitted sections, where the at least one single continuous fiber forms a plurality of traverses extending between the at least two knitted sections. In particular, embodiments may be used as ligament prostheses by anchoring each of the at least two knitted sections to a bone section of a patient. Such embodiments may be constructed from a strong polymer, preferably, but not limited to, silk, where the polymer provides ligament support but bioresorbs as load bearing responsibilities are transferred to tissue resulting from ingrowth.

Abstract: A nonwoven fabric facilitating permeation of loose passage. A nonwoven fabric is formed of short fibers of thermoplastic synthetic resin fused together. The nonwoven fabric is formed on a top side thereof with ridges and troughs undulating in a width direction and extending in parallel to one another in a length direction. When the nonwoven fabric is placed on a horizontal plane with the back side put in contact with the horizontal plate, highly void regions are formed between the back side and the horizontal plane. In the vicinity of apices of the respective ridges, the short fibers slope down so as to extend in a thickness direction of the nonwoven fabric.

Abstract: A connection pipe 40A is fit in an introduction pipe 34A. A guide groove 342 extends on the side of the introduction pipe 34A in the Z-axis direction. A guide screw 41 is screwed on the peripheral face of the connection pipe 40A to penetrate through a peripheral wall of the connection pipe 40A. A distal end of the guide screw 41 enters the guide groove 342. The distal end of the guide screw 41 is movable in the Z-axis direction in the guide groove 342. The connection pipe 40A is movable relative to the introduction pipe 34A in the Z-axis direction within the range of the length of the guide groove 342. The connection pipe 40A and the guide pipes 31A are moved in the Z-axis direction with an air cylinder 43. Accordingly, when fiber bundles are arranged using a plurality of guide pipes, the guide pipe is prevented from being caught by a fiber bundle drawn out of another guide pipe.

Abstract: A process for using recycled waste cotton material to produce a textile product is provided. The process can include collecting different categories of waste cotton material from a variety of textile formation processes. The process can also include selecting specific categories of waste cotton material to be blended together depending on the textile product to be produced. In the process, sequence of cleaning, opening and blending processing steps can be selected to be used in making a yarn depending on the textile product to be produced. The selected specific categories of waste cotton material can be cleaned, opened and blended into blended cotton fibers. The blended cotton fibers can then be processed into the textile product to be produced. Thus, a textile product can be provided that includes yarn that can have at least three different categories of waste cotton material that are from textile formation processes.
