  • Patent number: 11193618
Abstract: A thermal expansion compensating device has a conduit with a first opening and a second opening for connection to a first pipe and a second pipe of a hot water system, respectively, the first and second pipes being formed by removing a section from a length of pipe of the hot water system. A pre-tensioning force is applied to the device to axially displace the first opening from the second opening until after connection of the openings of the pipes. A resiliently deformable pipe segment defines a portion of the conduit between the first opening and the second opening and is resiliently deformed to a tensioned position by the application of the pre-tensioning force. Once the hot water system is activated, the pipes axially thermally expand such that the first opening moves towards the second opening and the pipe segment moves from the tensioned position towards a rest position decreasing the stress on the device.

  • Publication number: 20100117353
Abstract: A flange assembly, a coupling flange, and its assembling method thereof are disclosed. Stiffening plates (2) are located on the front side of the flange plate (1). Equilibrium contact surfaces (211) are set up on the front end surfaces of stiffening plates. The pressure stress bending moment created by the equilibrium contact surfaces offsets the pulling stress on the steel pipe wall and reduces the hoop stress of the steel pipe. This provides reliable bonding strength and ensures that the tensile rigidity remains unchanged under circulating dynamic load. This coupling flange is especially suitable for the connection of large-scale steel pipes such as the cylindrical pylons of large-scale wind power generators. The coupling flange can save steel consumption, reduce machining difficulty, and thus greatly reduce the manufacturing and assembling costs.

There is no direct contact between the concealed tank and the fitting body. Different fittings can be screwed to the fitting body. The connecting elements can be simultaneously used for the passage of water pipes.

The invention also comprises vaults having cast-in cable racks. The cable racks can be electrically connected to the reinforcing elements during manufacture, providing electrical grounding of electronic equipment placed in the vault. Cable channels can be installed at desired locations by selecting a knock-out, removing the knock-out and installing a terminator plate having cable conduits. Cable conduits can have diaphragms that can be removed to provide additional choices for locating cable channels. Cable channels can be provided in a vault in the field, even if the vault has been already installed.

  • Patent number: 6378910
Abstract: When running pipes or lines through a wall of a structure a hole is drilled in the wall during fabrication of the structure and then the line or pipe is run through the hole and to the outside of the building. Hose bibs or sill cocks typically include a faucet-like member and a base with notches located on opposite sides of the base. The hose bib attaches to the pipe and the hose bib is secured to the outside wall of the building usually by screws. A problem which frequently occurs with this practice, however, is that the pre-formed hole is too large so that the hose bib or sill cock cannot be secured to the wall. That is, there isn't anything to which the screws may attach. The present invention seeks to correct this problem by providing a flat, essentially diamond-shaped plate with a plurality of holes located therein. A hole larger than the other holes is located in the center of the plate.

The housing has a shoulder which is adapted to seat on the sink deck when mounted. There is a collar slidably movable on the body portion and of a size to pass through the sink deck opening. A threaded bore is in the collar and an unthreaded bore is in the housing shoulder, and a threaded member extends through these bores, with rotation of the threaded member from above the sink deck moving the collar axially along the housing body portion. The housing body portion has a recessed area thereon to accommodate inward movement of a pair of outwardly-biased yielding members, such as button-shaped projections, which are associated with the collar and extend outwardly therefrom such that when so extended the collar will not pass through the sink deck opening.
