Tag Type Patents (Class 292/307A)
  • Patent number: 6109673
Abstract: A material-economizing, tamper-evident seal is disclosed having dual, non-contiguous, symmetrically placed, reusable catches and a tear-off identification tag. Should seal replacement become necessary, the seal's identification tag is first torn off, and then the remainder of the seal is passed through one of the catches. A replacement seal with its own identification tag may then be engaged with both of the catches. The invention's preferred embodiment allows easy rotation of the identification tag, thus facilitating inspection of the tag's identifying mark, typically a serial number. The tag's tear-off feature is effected by the presence of an abscission bead, which may take one of several forms, as, for example, a row of perforations. Whereas some of the invention's components are preferably molded out of a resilient and relatively weak, thermoplastic material such as polypropylene, other components may with advantage be molded out of a much-stronger material, such as polycarbonate, instead.

  • Patent number: 6006460
Abstract: A game tagging system and method of affixing the game tagging system to a game animal utilizes a hunting license and a strip of material which displays the hunting license and attaches the hunting license to the game animal. The strip of material has an upper portion and a lower portion. The hunting license is attached to the lower portion of the strip of material and the upper portion of the strip of material is attached to the game animal. The game tagging system conveniently holds the hunting license until it is necessary to apply the license to the game animal and enables the hunter to easily and securely affix the hunting license to the game animal.

  • Patent number: 5873188
Abstract: An identification device is disclosed comprising a display area for recorded indicia that is located between a first and a second end. The first end includes three or more equally spaced apart holes and the second end includes three or more equally spaced holes. The device is an improvement over the prior art in that the equal spacing on the first end is different than equal spacing on the second end by which means closer adjustment of the circumference of the band can be obtained without spacing the securing holes on either end so close together that they may be easily torn.

  • Patent number: 5826447
Abstract: A bung-plug lock apparatus for preventing a bung-plug (14, 16) from being unscrewed from a drum bung (12, 14) includes an elongated locking plate (38, 38') having a mounting portion (40, 40') for engaging the bung-plug and a locking portion (44, 44') extending radially outwardly from the bung-plug for contacting an inner surface of a raised rim of a drum to prevent the bung-plug from being rotated to unscrew it from the drum. The mounting portion has slots for receiving laterally positioned arms (34, 34') of a U-bracket (30, 30') attached in an external cavity of a standard bung plug. A retaining cable loop (52), having a unique serial number (62), passes through holes (50, 50') in the arms for retaining the locking plate on the bung plug. The locking plate can be turned over and used as a wrench for removing the bung plug.

  • Patent number: 5765885
Abstract: A tie-type security seal having a seal body (1) with internal locking teeth (5) in a tunnel (2) and an elongate element (11) having a series of sealing formations (14) therealong. The free end (13) of the elongate element (11) may be passed through the tunnel (2) so that the sealing formations (14) successively cooperate with the teeth (5) on tightening the loop so formed. According to the invention, a locking accessory (9) integral with the seal body (1) is formed with a through opening (15) having a shape substantially identical to the cross section of the elongate element (11) and at least one flexible edge part (16) to adjust itself to the differences in the said cross section in the regions of the regions of the sealing formations. The accessory (9) is foldable with respect to the seal body (1) so that the through opening (15) is superimposed on the open outlet (4) of the tunnel (2) in the seal body.

  • Patent number: 5524945
Abstract: A one piece molded thermoplastic, preferably polypropylene, high security seal for coin bags has a locking socket body from which a flag extends on one side and a rectangular flat elongated shackle extends on the opposite side via an intermediate flat member which has a tear band there across for selectively separating the member into two pieces to facilitate removal of the locked seal. The shackle has several locking circular segment teeth in two parallel linear arrays on opposite edges of the shackle adjacent to a tamper resistant flange at the member end. A locking sheet metal stamped insert has two sets of tangs defining two spaced tooth receiving openings in a socket locking cavity aligned with shackle receiving openings in the body. The body receives the insert transverse to the shackle insertion direction through a cavity side wall later sealed with a flap formed in the seal body. The locked shackle precludes removal of the insert should the side wall seal be tampered with.

  • Patent number: 5018286
Abstract: A user authorization tag for the wearer thereof is rendered tamper resistant by forming the tag as an integral unit having a flat panel portion and a flexible loop portion extending from the panel portion. The loop is dimensioned for threading through a clothing opening, for example through a zipper pull, a button hole, or the like. Once the loop is threaded through the clothing opening, the panel is passed through the loop, to thereby secure the loop to the clothint opening. A relatively large ticket, carrying user authorization information such as bar code data, is then nonremovably secured to the panel. The size of the ticket is such that the panel with its attached ticket cannot pass back through the loop if an attempt is later made to remove the tag from the clothing.
