Occupants Motion Actuates A Ventilating Means (e.g., Rocking Movement, Etc.) Patents (Class 297/180.16)
  • Patent number: 10226991
Abstract: An apparatus provides an air shield over a portal access opening between a vehicle access member and a stationary vehicle trim member. An air supply device disposed within the vehicle. The air supply device includes an active material creating the burst of air. The air supply device produces a burst of air that discharges upon opening of the vehicle access member. At least one output port outputs the burst of air. The burst of air forms the air shield in a direction substantially transverse to the portal opening. The air shield is formed across at least a portion of a perimeter of the portal access opening between the vehicle access member and the stationary vehicle trim member. The air shield inhibits precipitation from entering the compartment of the vehicle during a pressure equalization phase that occurs in response to the opening of the vehicle access member.

Abstract: A heat ventilating chair includes a backrest unit, a seat unit, and a connecting unit connecting the backrest unit to the seat unit. One of the backrest unit and the seat unit includes a hollow member having an air pump, a pressure valve, and a channel that communicates fluidly the air pump and the pressure valve. The connecting unit is connected between the air pump and the other one of the backrest unit and the seat unit. The connecting unit drives the air pump to expel hot air in the channel to the ambient via the pressure valve when the backrest unit is forced to incline rearward. The connecting unit drives the air pump to draw ambient cool air into the channel via the pressure valve when the backrest unit is restored from a rearwardly inclined state.

  • Publication number: 20090140562
Abstract: A combined deodorizing and air freshening vehicle seat cushion for removing odors and releasing a pleasant aroma in a vehicle may include primary bodies oriented in a side-by-side configuration. The primary bodies may include a predetermined quantity of a deodorizing agent contained within an internal cavity of the primary bodies for filtering and deodorizing the airborne odor in the ambient air. Auxiliary bodies may be contiguously conjoined to the primary bodies and may include freshening agents for impregnating the deodorized ambient air with pleasant aromas. Pairs of flaps may automatically pivot between closed and tensioned open positions when an external force is exerted onto the seat cover such that air may be laterally forced out of the primary bodies, through the flaps, and into the auxiliary bodies to be impregnated with pleasant aromas. Thereafter, the freshened air may be released into the vehicle through outlet ports of the auxiliary bodies.

  • Patent number: 7108319
Abstract: The invention relates to an upholstered element (1) for a lower seat part (2) and/or a backrest (4) of an air-conditioned motor-vehicle seat (6), comprising an elastic upholstered air-permeable base part (8) and an air-permeable air-conditioning layer (10) which is disposed on the surface of the base part (8). The air-conditioning layer (10) consists of at least two partial layers (14, 16), i.e. a lower layer (14) which is oriented towards the base part (8) and an upper layer (16) which is disposed on top of the lower layer (14). The upper layer (16) is made of a material which absorbs moisture. Preferably, an intermediate layer (22) made of an air-permeable material is disposed between the base part (8) and the lower layer (14). The lower layer (14) is relatively softer and the intermediate layer (22, 22a) is relatively harder, whereby the lower layer (14) and intermediate layer (22) are prevented from being pressed into holes (18) in the base part (8) when the seat is occupied.
