Abstract: The present disclosure provides a convertible seat. The convertible seat includes a seat member and a backrest member pivotally mounted to seat member. The backrest member is configured to at least assume a folded position, a first unfolded position and a second unfolded position. The first unfolded position is a seat mode and second unfolded position is a diaper changing position. The backrest member in seat mode is inclined relative to seat member to enable an adult accompanying an infant to sit and the backrest member in the diaper changing station mode is aligned with a longitudinal plane of the seat member to enable an infant to rest for replacement of a diaper. The convertible seat further includes a plurality of storage compartment, which is configured with a sterile surface. The compartment when laid-out in diaper changing station mode allows infant to rest on sterile surface for replacement of diaper.

Abstract: A beach chair securing assembly includes an outer insert having a hollow leg having a pointed distal tip and a proximal opening. The hollow leg has a helical thread assembly surrounding an exterior thereof and extending partially up the length of the leg. A generally annular lower plate surrounds the proximal opening and has a pair of diametrically opposed clamps. Each clamp includes a vertical portion extending upwardly from the lower plate and a connecting horizontal portion extending generally parallel to the lower plate. An inner insert has a distal shaft sized to fit into the hollow leg and an upper plate connected to the distal shaft. The upper plate has a top surface having a saddle defined by a generally arcuate concave valley extending along a longitudinal axis. A pair of diametrically opposed ridges extends upwardly from either side of the valley. Each ridge includes an upwardly extending eyelet having a through-hole extending therethrough such that the through-holes are axially aligned.

Abstract: A vehicle seat component selection system includes a showroom having a vehicle seat component display and a touch screen terminal for input of customer data such as vehicle identification, vehicle assembly location and vehicle assembly volume. The terminal has access to a vehicle seat component database which defines characteristics of each component, such as sourcing location, cost, and compatibility with other components. A customer seat selection report is created by selecting components from the database, with a signal provided in the event incompatible components are selected. The terminal graphically displays the components as they are selected, and indicates a price range for the seat assembly as it is being proposed.

Abstract: A method for implementing a supporting base (1) of a car seat, the latter including said base apt to rest onto a seat of such vehicle and apt to support an upper structure (16) apt to receive and retain a child, the base comprising a first (2) and a second (3) portion, the first sitting portion (2) being apt to rest onto the seat sitting and the second backrest portion (3) being apt to rest onto the backrest of such seat. It is provided to implement such base in at least two sections (20, 21), each section (20, 21) comprising a portion of the base portion and a portion of the sitting portion of the base, said sections being then coupled therebetween and constrained so as to implement the above-mentioned base. The so-obtained base and the seat equipped with such base are also claimed.

Abstract: An aircraft seat assembly comprises a continuous row of a plurality of seats including a convertible aisle seat at one end of the row and one or more other seats. The seats are moveable between (i) a first configuration in which all of the seats are positioned in a useable position and a second configuration in which (a) the convertible seat is positioned in an unusable position in the row, (b) said one or more other seats are positioned in a useable position, and (c) the row of seats has a length, along the row, that is less than the length of the row in the first configuration for example by a distance of more than half the width of the convertible seat in the first configuration. The width of said one or more other seats may remain unchanged as between the first and second configurations.

Abstract: A locking mechanism used in a vehicle for locking and unlocking a movable structure to a fixed structure includes a base plate secured on the movable structure, a striker secured on the fixed structure, a latch rotatably supported on the base plate to engage the striker, and a pawl rotatably supported on the base plate to maintain engagement between the striker and the latch. A cam member is rotatably supported on the base plate to pinch the striker together with the latch.

Abstract: A substantially non-freestanding backrest for supporting a person in a reclining position. The rest assembly comprises a support structure of two preferably pivotally intersecting leg members having a torso support member coupled therebetween. A lower back support member and various supply holding configurations/embodiments are also disclosed.

Abstract: A collapsible beach chair which is formed from a covering, such as canvas, which is folded and joined together to define a pair of seat compartments and a pair of back compartments with the compartments being joined together by a transverse hinge portion of the covering. The seat compartments are joined together by a longitudinal hinge portion of the covering separate and apart from a longitudinal hinge portion of the covering joining together the back compartments. Each compartment has therein a stiffening element which includes a rigid backing having a padded surface. The hinge portions of the covering are so arranged that the seat may be folded with all four compartments being disposed in side-by-side relationship and with the back forming compartments disposed outermost. The back forming compartments are joined together by releasable strap means and carry handles to facilitate the carrying thereof.
