With Distinct Handle To Effect Mounting On Cycle-type Vehicle Patents (Class 301/124.2)
  • Patent number: 11970233
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for mounting a bicycle to a surface, such as a truck bed or cement slab, or the like. The device includes at least one base configured for mounting with the surface, and a locking mechanism comprising a hollow enclosure with opposing slots, a biasing mechanism, and opposing locking prongs with finger tabs. The locking prongs are confined to slidable movement along a longitudinal axis of the hollow enclosure and extend outwardly from the hollow enclosure in a first locked position. When the finger tabs are squeezed together to retract the locking prongs into the hollow enclosure, the aperture or slot of the bicycle forks are aligned with the locking tabs. When the finger tabs are released, he biasing mechanism forces the locking prongs to extend outwardly to engage the slots or apertures of the bicycle forks to lock the bicycle with the surface.

The retaining member is disposed between the first ring of the bearing unit and one of the first and second end nuts. The first and second end nuts have first and second through holes, respectively. The second through hole of the second end nut has an inner diameter that is smaller than an inner diameter of the first through hole of the first end nut.

Abstract: A quick release device includes an axle tube, a pressing unit, and a driving unit. The axle tube extends through a bicycle frame, and has a plurality of through holes. The pressing unit includes a plurality of pressing members disposed respectively and movably within the through holes in the axle tube, and a pushing member movable axially in the axle tube. The driving unit includes a movable shaft. When the driving unit is changed to a locking state, the movable shaft moves the pushing member such that the pushing member pushes and moves the pressing member to press against the bicycle frame. When the driving unit is changed to a release state, the movable shaft moves the pushing member away from the pressing members to allow the pressing members to move radially away from the bicycle frame.

Abstract: The present invention teaches a novel axle apparatus for a driven bicycle hub that when used in conjunction with contemporary hubs eliminates the need for a user to become involved in any way with the cogset or chain. The axle of the apparatus is comprised of three main sub-assemblies: a non-driven side lever and shaft, a non-driven side hub insert and a driven side freewheel insert. The design of the present invention is such that it may be adapted for use with most of the contemporary hubs/freewheels available. The three sub-assemblies act in concert to form a solid axle in a two stage action. The mating action is such that misalignment of the wheel is impossible.
