Abstract: A connector system for joining panels or other components together includes male connectors and female connector recessed profiles. The male connectors are attachable to one panel or component and the female connector profiles can be formed in or attached to another panel or component. The male connector has a tapered body with dovetail side edges extending between a narrower leading end and a wider trailing end. The female connector profile has a footprint with a wider open entry section and a narrower closed anchoring section. Dovetail side walls extend between the entry and anchoring sections. The connectors are small, and multiple male and female connectors are used on joining panels. The connector system can be used in ready to assemble furniture, stud walls and other assemblies and are especially suited for use in wood based members of composite construction.

Abstract: A rack-mounted console module includes a lower unit slideably mounted on a rail and an upper unit pivotally coupled to the lower unit. A locking mechanism includes a first part moveably disposed in the lower unit and a second part fixedly disposed on the rail. When the upper unit is closed and the lower unit slides along the rail to a target position, the first part of the locking mechanism changes from a released state to a locked state where it engages the second part of the locking mechanism to lock the lower unit. When the upper unit is opened, the first part changes from the locked state to a ready-to-released state. When the upper unit is subsequently closed, the first part changes from the ready-to-released state to a released state where it disengages from the second part, and the console module can be slid back into the rack.

Abstract: A modular computer includes a main board unit, a power supply unit, a CPU, a graphic/display unit, a data reading/writing unit and a plurality of fasteners. Each of the units is formed into a rectangular six-face-boxed modular. A connector is provided on one of the faces of the units. The units are stacked in vertical direction or arranged in horizontal direction. The units are fixed together by the fasteners. The connectors provide electrical connection among the units.

Abstract: A modular flat pack computer cabinet has a lower cabinet and an upper cabinet. The lower cabinet has a bottom board, multiple sideboards, a door panel and a top board. The sideboards are mounted on the bottom board to form a space and are connected to each other by multiple inserting elements mounted in the mounting recesses of the sideboards. The door panel is pivotally connected to one of the sideboards. The top board is mounted on the sideboards. The upper cabinet is detachably mounted on the lower cabinet and has a base and a monitor container. The base of the upper cabinet is mounted on the top board of the lower cabinet. The monitor container is formed on the base of the upper cabinet opposite to the lower cabinet.

Abstract: A cart suitable for supporting a grill, including a firebox. The cart has four panels each of which has all four of its edges bent to form a flange that provides structural rigidity and a connection feature for facilitating the assembly of the cart. Two opposing side panels are carried by and preferably welded to a respective side frame. The side frames are joined by upper crossbars, one at the front of the cart and a second at the rear of the cart. A bottom panel fits into and is carried by troughs formed by upturned lips on the lower edges of the side panels. The structural integrity and racking strength of the cart is enhanced by the attachment of a rear panels, which has a lower lip that locks into engagement with the rear edge of the bottom panel. The top edge of the rear panel is fastened to the rear upper crossbar to complete the basic structure of the cart. Hooks welded to the side frames allow easy and secure attachment of side and front attachments to the cart.

Abstract: A locker shelf assembly which has first and second side walls and a shelf. Each of the side walls includes substantially horizontally extending grooves. The shelf has a first end and a second end. The first end of the shelf is positioned in the groove of the first side wall and the second end of the shelf is positioned in the groove of the second side wall. When the assembly is positioned in a locker, the shelf acts to position the first and second side walls against the walls of the locker.

Abstract: A file cabinet includes a foldable sheet metal housing wrapper or individual side panels which define a back wall and the left and right side walls of the cabinet. A reinforcement box or insert is permanently affixed within the back of the cabinet which reinforcement box is spaced forwardly of the back wall to define a strengthening column which rigidifies the overall housing structure. Upper and lower cross rails are secured to the upper and lower corners of the side walls at the front of the cabinet to rigidify the front of the cabinet. The opposite ends of the cross rail have depending flanges which are fixedly secured to vertical tubular edge supports formed integrally in the side walls.

Abstract: Walls and other structures can be made from blocks assembled from relatively light-weight standard panels that fit together like a puzzle. The blocks are held together without the use of mortar. Each block is formed of six rectangular panels fitted together by sliding capturable elements into cooperating receiving grooves. All of the panels have a common thickness and each panel has two parallel faces. Three types of panels are involved in making the block.

Abstract: A cabinet facilitating storage, transport, and assembly, and its package method, are provided. The cabinet consists of 2 bounding-frame subassemblies, a door, a back-board, connecting-beams, and screws. The bounding-frame subassembly is constituted of a bounding-frame, and a panel, mounting-beams, device-mounting battens etc., which are mounted on the bounding-frame in advance. Each of the 4 corner ends inside 2 bounding-frame subassemblies is provided with an embedding head, which is inserted into and engaged with the connecting-beam. It is easy to assemble the cabinet at the spot, because the engaging structure of 2 bounding-frame subassemblies and the connecting-beams can be fixed with 8 screws so that the cabinet's frame can be assembled quickly. When packed, it is possible to put the door, the back-board, the connecting-beams, the screws etc., into the space S formed by 2 bounding-frame subassemblies.

Abstract: A housing for receiving electric and/or electronic components, having a housing body, with a front that can be closed by a front door and an open back that can be closed with a rear covering, wherein the covering can be attached to the body in an exchangeable manner. To use such a housing selectively and in a simple manner as a housing standing on its own, or as a housing installed on a wall, with the rear covering removed, a suspension device is installed on the housing body, which has a wall that covers the open back of the housing. The suspension device has two or several fastening elements, which have fastening receivers accessible from the exterior of the housing.

Abstract: A modular drawer system provides a system of interchangeable components that are easy to assemble. The system requires few fasteners because most of the parts are slidably interconnected. Many parts perform dual functions. A removable lock tray and a tracking mechanism to provide easier steering of a rolling cart are provided. A lock bar assembly with few moving parts is easily assembled. In addition, an accessory track provides two types of attachment means for accessories, a more flexible, snap-on attachment and a more permanent, bolted attachment.

Abstract: A cable management assembly for use with equipment racks wherein equipment panels are fastened along vertical mounting rails of the rack. In one embodiment, the assembly includes an elongated trough having a back wall, a bottom wall and a front wall. The back wall is constructed to be fastened to the mounting rails of the equipment rack, and the bottom wall extends a sufficient distance forward so that the trough accommodates wire or fiber optic cables terminated at one or more equipment panels fastened to the rack above the back wall of the trough. A door has its bottom edge hinged to the front wall of the trough, and the door extends at a first position to protect cables terminated at one or more equipment panels mounted on the rack above the back wall of the trough. The door can be swung to a second position to permit access to the cables and the panels at which they terminate.

Abstract: A utility shed is disclosed comprising modular side panels (30) which are connected together by corner connectors (26) and in-line connectors (28) to form sidewalls. The connectors (26, 28) have an I-beam cross section and comprise U-shaped ends (106, 80) which engage relatively wide channels (62, 64) to securely hold the wall panels together. A door assembly is provided for engaging the corner connectors (26) and include pivot pin members (202) which attached to the vertical channel (114) of corner connectors (26) and allow pivotal door panels (164) to be suspended therefrom. Floor panels (116, 118) and lid panels (154) are provided compatible with the I-beam edge configuration of the side panels (30) such that the lid, floor and sidewalls mutually interlock with high structural integrity. The modularity of the side panels (30) allow for enclosures of larger or smaller size to be created using the same panel componentry.

Abstract: A containment system for a packaged air conditioning unit is disclosed comprising a base pan, a first unit wrapper, a second unit wrapper, a compressor compartment partition, a condenser compartment partition, and a top cover having an indoor section and an outdoor section. The unit wrappers and the compartment partitions are guided into position during installation by engaging a notch formed on the wrapper or partition with a positioning cleat formed on the base pan. Because the unit wrappers and the partitions firmly abut the base ban throughout their length, these components help to laterally stiffen the base pan.

Abstract: An article of furniture includes two supports each of which is made up of a shelf mounted on a rectangular frame. The supports are spaced from one another by pairs of vertical boards which bracket X-shaped spacers constituted by inclined interlocking boards.

Abstract: A piece of furniture has side panels, each having a front and rear dove tail shaped vertical channel. A channel access aperture is positioned proximate a lower end of each channel. Lower support members are coupled between the side panels using dove tail shaped ends. A front panel having dove tail shaped ends is slidably coupled between the front dove shaped channels of the side panels. A rear panel is positioned between the rear channels. Two tipper support members having dove tail shaped ends are coupled between the side panels in similar fashion to the lower support members. A top panel having bracing members with dove tail shaped ends is positioned atop the side panels such that the bracing member ends are positioned within dove tail shaped brace receivers in the side panels.

Abstract: A medication cart has a base formed of a pair of molded plates interconnected by rails. The plates have molded grooves and holes for receiving structural elements of the cart. Molded hollow plastic end panels have horizontal ribs that support drawers. The end panels are seated in grooves in the base plates. A top cap covers the top of the cart. Lock bars are provided to retain the drawers in the cart.

Abstract: A readily disassemblable cabinet for a liquid dispensing system includes a supporting frame assembly having a base plate and a shelf, and further includes readily removable front, rear, and side panels and a separately removable top support and top panel. Readily removable metal rods are provided to secure individual base, shelf and top support components to the frame assembly. Such rods permit the quick removal of the system components and thus facilitate routine maintenance of the liquid dispensing system while minimizing the number of tools required to service the unit. The upper surface of the shelf supports a readily removable reservoir and the underside of the shelf is formed with brackets for receiving cross pins which removably support a hot tank for pivotal and translational movement toward and away from a valved waterway suspended below the reservoir.

Each of the drawer supports includes an upright support plate having a bottom end formed with a set of second positioning units for engaging a respective one of the two sets of first positioning units. The top cover has a bottom side formed with two sets of positioning sockets which are aligned respectively with lugs on the drawer supports, and two sets of aligned clamping plates. Each of the sets of clamping plates cooperates with a respective one of the sets of positioning sockets to form a clearance for clamping one edge of a respective one of the drawer supports therein. The top cover is mounted onto the drawer supports with the use of screws. Each drawer extends between the drawer supports and is retained slidably therebetween by horizontal guide rails.

Abstract: Disclosed is a reconfigurable space frame cabinet for mounting to a vehicle and a method of assembly therefor. The reconfigurable space frame cabinet includes four elongated corner members having two parallel extending grooves on a first side and a plurality of mounting holes on a second side for adjustably mounting various hardware fittings. First and second channel members having first and second channels, respectively, are mounted substantially perpendicular to the four elongated corner member. First and second side panels are positioned within the first and second channels adjacent to the elongated corner members. Four trim covers, each having two parallel extending fingers are used for removably engaging the two parallel extending grooves in the elongated corner members. A top assembly having various recessed features is mounted substantially perpendicular to each elongated corner member.

Abstract: A free standing assembled smokehouse, which can be collapsed from its open or assembled configuration to a closed or disassembled compact configuration is shown. The open or assembled smokehouse is a box-shaped with a firebox chamber in the lower portion that can accommodate a variety of heat sources such as wood, electric heaters or charcoal. The upper portion of the smokehouse is the comestible chamber where food products are supported by removable shelves that are arranged so that smoke and heat can circulate efficiently, thus smoking the food products uniformly. When disassembled and closed, the smokehouse has a compact configuration that contains all the parts in a narrow rectangular box that is easy to store and transport.

Abstract: A computer cover structure is removably slid over an associated computer chassis to place facing end walls of the cover and chassis in a contiguous, parallel relationship, the end walls are automatically aligned with one another, in two perpendicular directions parallel to their facing side surfaces, by a plurality of outwardly projecting lance strips associated with the cover structure end wall and received by corresponding elongated, generally diamond-shaped openings formed in the chassis end wall. The wall openings are longer and wider than the outwardly projecting longitudinally intermediate portions of the lance strips, and have oppositely sloped facing side edges. Initially, the longitudinally intermediate lance strip portions freely enter their associated chassis wall openings.

Both of these structures include upright posts (7) and horizontal braces (9) therebetween, the latter being fastened between the upright posts by means of screws (15) extending through said upright posts. Horizontal braces (9) and upright posts (7) define rectangular areas, the sides of horizontal braces and upright posts facing said areas being provided with a groove (13, 14) for receiving cover boards which cover such areas. The broad sides of upright posts (7) of end ladder (3) are placed against the ends of horizontal braces (9) and provided with two arrays of holes (16) extending on either side of the ends of horizontal braces (9).

Abstract: A room air conditioner unit is disclosed having a molded polymeric chassis consisting primarily of two chassis members. A sheet metal wrapper is removably installed with four corner fasteners and gives an external appearance of a metal unit, as well as assisting in holding the two chassis members together. All of the operative components of the unit are positioned and supported on the lower chassis member and can be operationally tested prior to installation of the upper chassis member or the sheet metal wrapper. The two chassis members are interconnected without separate fasteners and the only operational component requiring separate fasteners is the compressor itself. The unit is therefore well adapted for automated manufacture with a minimum of labor content during either manufacture or repair.

Abstract: A knockdown metal cabinet is particularly suited for the food merchandising business and can be quickly assembled from a plurality of flat panels. A rectangular base member has upstanding brackets at each corner along front and back sides which receive channel members secured to a pair of opposed side panels. The side panels are joined together at the top by a pair of horizontal braces each secured at two vertically spaced points to the adjacent side panel to produce a rigid box structure. Front and back panels are then hung in place and supported by the horizontal braces and the base without fasteners. The assembly may then be completed by a top member which is secured to horizontal flanges extending along the top edges of each of the side panels.

Abstract: A collapsible file box is disclosed which includes a rectangular base, a pair of generally rectangular ends adapted to extend vertically upwardly from the rectangular base, each end further including a plurality of side tabs extending outwardly from each of the two side edges of the end, a pair of generally rectangular sides adapted to extend vertically upwardly from the rectangular base, each side having a plurality of grooves at each of the two side extremities of the side to receive the tabs on the ends so that the tabs may be inserted into the grooves to assemble the collapsible file box only with the sides and ends in correct orientation to each other. The collapsible file box may also include a rectangular lid which is substantially structurally identical to the rectangular base, and may also include upwardly facing side rails on the sides for suspending conventional letter size hanging file folders, and upwardly facing end rails on the ends for suspending conventional legal size hanging file folders.

Abstract: A cabinet construction for domestic appliances is provided in which four vertical side panels are secured to a horizontal base panel and each other by interlocking slot and tab means and two restraining bars securing the top ends of the side panels. A top panel is securable by slot and tab means and resilient snap fasteners so that the entire cabinet can be quickly and easily assembled and disassembled. One or more of the side panels can be removed during operation of the appliance to view the interior mechanism for assistance in servicing.

Abstract: Various geometric structures are disclosed. In a preferred embodiment, the structure is a mirror cube formed by five rectangular mirrors defining four sides and a top panel, and an inset base. Upper and lower frames extend around upper and lower margins of the side panels and are coupled together by clamping means. In one embodiment, these clamping means comprise a bolt extending between an inner top panel and the base and releasable from below the base. Other forms of structure are disclosed and may be used as, say, packing cases, furniture structures and the like.

The first and third bosses (34 and 38) are tangentially received in elongated horizontal slots (40 and 44) in side support plates (18) to position and lock the shelves (12, 14 and 16) against vertical movement. The intermediate bosses (36) are tangentially received in vertical elongated slots (42)in the side support plates (18) to position and lock the shelves (12, 14 and 16) against horizontal movement. During assembly, edges of the slots (40, 42 and 44) tend to flatten or shave off small peripheral portions (50) of the bosses when the bosses are slightly oversize, whereby the oversize bosses can readily be assembled into the slots.

Abstract: A hinge comprising a first elongated hinge member defining an elongated socket and a second hinge member adapted to be positionable in a first angular position wherein at least a portion of the second hinge member is slidably insertable into the socket and slidably removable from the socket and a second angular position at an acute angle to the first angular position and wherein the second hinge member is restrained against removal from the socket. The first hinge member includes a supporting surface and a restraining member spaced from the supporting surface in opposed relation thereto and projecting toward the supporting surface. The restraining member includes a rodlike bearing surface facing the supporting surface, and the rodlike bearing surface and the supporting surface define the socket therebetween.

Abstract: A knockdown structure including at least two panels adapted to extend transverse to each other, an intermediate bar segment attached to a side face of one of the panels and two end bar segments attached to side face of the other of the panels and disposed at opposite ends of the intermediate bar segment. The intermediate and end bar segments have end faces in abutting relation when the bar segments are in alignment and the abutting end face on the intermediate and end bar segments define supplementary angles extending oblique to both of the panels at angles such that the intermediate bar segment forms a wedge type interlock with the end bar segments.

There is provided structural means for cooperation with presently known easily assembled and disassembled shelving structure for converting same into an easily assembled and attractive closed cabinet. Starting with the shelving structure in unchanged condition there is provided a plurality of small clips for the reception and holding of appropriate side and door means for converting said shelving into a closed cabinet.

Abstract: The shelf assembly described herein comprises a shelf arrangement designed for assembly by sliding in a limited manner doweled or tubed component parts into interlocking arrangement from the rear of the assembly. This has the advantages of a locked arrangement once the assembly is fastened to the back of a door and allows for greater structural strength and improved appearance of the front of the assembly.

The mounting columns serve as structural components of the electrical housing assembly unit and also as members to which electrical components and the like may be removably mounted. Additional component parts such as facias and spacers may also be mounted to the mounting columns. The facias and spacers, in addition to aesthetic value, provide additional strength to the electrical apparatus housing assembly.

Abstract: This invention relates to a fitting for the detachable connecting of two structural parts which abut perpendicularly to each other, particularly cabinet parts, having a preferably cylindrical or partially cylindrical holding piece which can be inserted into a recess, open towards one surface side, in a first structural part, and having a connecting piece which can be anchored in a recess of the second structural part as well as on the holding piece. The connecting piece in the second structural part can be anchored relative to the connecting piece by displacement of the holding piece.

Abstract: A furniture article such as a bookshelf unit has a pair of back panels which are arranged edge to edge in extension between upright side members. The outer edges of the panels are received in grooves formed in the sides. The combined width of the panels is greater than the distance between the side members so that the panels initially overlap at their inner edges. The panels are displaced to position their inner edges in butting engagement and are then snapped into a common plane with the edges remaining butted together to retain the panels under compression in the assembled condition.

Abstract: A collapsible container having two channel-like members which mate with one another to form an enclosure and two U-shaped brackets having inwardly facing grooves for receiving the edges of the channel-like members to secure them together. A method for forming the channel-like members from sheet metal or the like and the U-shaped members from elongated bars.

Abstract: A molded instrument housing includes a top wall and a bottom wall slidably connected to a pair of opposed side walls or expanders to form a hollow housing with fastening means securing the various walls together by passing through vertical guide members on the side walls. Horizontal flanges are integral with the side walls and the guide members are molded to and extend from the flanges. Each flange includes a vertical opening which renders it adaptable for having a support member secured thereto. A novel handle construction is also provided.

Abstract: A display cart assembly which is built on and supported by a shopping cart. Upright side panels are releasably supported on opposite sides of a basket of the shopping cart. Upright end panels span opposed end portions of the side panels. A container is mounted between the side panels. A chamber of the container extends into the interior of the basket and can contain ice for refrigerating food articles in the chamber. Springs connect the side panels to urge the side panels against the end portions. Other springs link each of the side panels with one of the end panels to hold the side panels in engagement with that one of the end panels.

Abstract: A cabinet of the sort used as a vanity, or the like, is molded in several components connected in articulated relation for shipment in a flat, folded condition yet readily erected for installation. The components include a front panel formed with integral hinges connected to cooperating integral hinges formed on a pair of side panels adapted to fold over against one another and the front panel when the cabinet is in a collapsed position. A pair of shelves is provided, each with integral hinge pins pivotally engaging the front and side panels by sockets formed between the side panels and the front panel, both shelves being foldable against the front panel when collapsed. A back panel is provided for closing the rear of the cabinet when erected and means are provided for re-inforcing and supporting the various components from damage during shipment.
