  • Patent number: 11981288
Abstract: This disclosure is generally directed to systems and methods for eliminating false activation of components of a vehicle when the vehicle is parked in a garage. Example components can be a door lock, a door latch, a door activation servomotor, or a light. In an example method, a vehicle entry authorization system of a vehicle operates a sensor system to obtain dimensional information of an interior portion of the garage. The vehicle entry authorization system may then detect a presence of a mobile device (such as a smartphone, smart device, or a vehicle key fob) and determines the location of the mobile device based on the dimensional information. If the mobile device is located outside the garage, the vehicle entry authorization system refrains from activating a component of the vehicle. However, if the mobile device is located inside the garage, the vehicle entry authorization system activates the component.

  • Patent number: 11975653
Abstract: In a case where a person moves away in a longitudinal direction from the vicinity of a vehicle, a condition for generating a warning is satisfied due to a change in a speed in a transverse direction. Thus, a warning system generates an erroneous warning. In order to solve this problem, there are proposed a target detection system for a vehicle and a target detection method for a vehicle, both of which are capable of computing a final risk level, taking into consideration not only results of recomputing a time-to-collision and an impact point, but also the presence or absence of a target that is detected by a camera sensor. The time-to-collision and the impact point are recomputed, taking into consideration a change in a speed in a transverse direction that occurs when the target moves in the longitudinal direction.

Abstract: A wireless lighting system used with demountable equipment, including truck-mounted forklifts (TMFL). The system includes a transmitter installed in a lighting harness or trailer lighting socket on a transporting vehicle. When the transporting vehicle's notification lights or signals (turn signals, tail lights, brake lights, clearance lights, reverse lights) are activated, a wireless signal is transmitted to a wireless receiver located on the TMFL, and a corresponding light or lights are activated on the TMFL. The system utilizes the power source of the TMFL to power the notification lights of the TMFL while being transported. Further, when the forklift is dismounted and in operation, the wireless lighting system is disabled until the forklift is returned to the transport position on the transport vehicle. This prevents actuation of the lights on the forklift unless the forklift is on the transport vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11821399
Abstract: In a case where an engine is started based on a remote operation, a limitation condition for limiting an engine start is tightened or a stop condition after the engine is started is relaxed, as compared to a case where the engine is started based on a switch operation in an occupant cabin. That is, it is difficult to start the engine when the engine is started based on the remote operation, and it is easy to stop the engine when the engine is started based on the remote operation. As a result, it is possible to take more appropriate measures when the engine is started based on the remote operation.

  • Patent number: 11814065
Abstract: A method and system of intelligently alerting and/or routing vehicles to improve driving safety is disclosed. The method includes sharing data collected by vehicles in different locations to determine whether the presence of dynamically moving objects such as animals and pedestrians will affect traffic conditions for other vehicles on the nearby roadways. If the system determines there is a likelihood of such objects being obstacles to other vehicles, an alert can be automatically presented to the drivers of the impacted vehicles. The method further includes generating routes for the driver that avoid, or limit, the driver's exposure to the obstacle.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, an image synthesis device for an electronic mirror includes a rear camera which obtains a first image from a first position, and a side camera which obtains a second image of the same direction with a view of the rear camera from a second position. The second image includes a view obstruction. When a part of the first image is connected as a complementary image to the view obstruction of the second image, an image processing device converts an image of the view obstruction into a translucent image, superimposes the complementary image on the translucent image, and obtains a third image which remains an outline of the complementary image.

Abstract: An environmental safety system may include first sensors each located at a predetermined physical location of a physical location and with a predetermined orientation. The system may receive first sensor data captured by the plurality of first sensors. The system may also determine values of parameters of an object within a threshold distance of the physical location using the first sensor data. The values of the parameters of the object may be transmitted to a vehicle approaching the physical location. The vehicle may receive second sensor data captured by second sensors in the vehicle. An optimized navigation of the vehicle approaching the physical location may be determined based on the values of the parameters of the object and the second sensor data. A driving action may be provided to the vehicle based on the optimized navigation of the vehicle.
