The insole can be referred to as pillow cushion because of the formation of a cavity between the first cushion layer and the second cushion layer. A slipper and a method for manufacturing a slipper are provided.

    Abstract: A slipper sock having a rubber sole liner. The lining is formed by embedding the sock within uncured, liquid latex rubber. The liquid rubber is prevented from embedding a central zone on the sole of the sock, but embeds fabric of the sock at the periphery of this zone. This is preferably accomplished by spraying a coagulant upon the sole of the sock, which causes immediate, localized curing of the uncured latex which then cannot permeate through the sock fabric. The liner thus is securely bonded to the sock. The sock has a sole comprising fabric unencumbered by rubber, thereby presenting a fabric material to the sole of a wearer's foot. The liner protects the fabric sole from abrasion and protects the wearer's foot from sharp objects and extreme temperatures, while the liner remains physically separate and apart from the fabric sole.

The top of the cover is retained tightly against the top of the shoe upper to give the cover a snug fit against the selected shoe. The shoe cover also carries one or more ankle supporting straps that are positioned near the wear's ankle when the shoe cover is installed on the shoe. The straps can be wrapped around the user's ankle where they are held closed with fasteners. Thus, the ankle support straps do not require that a separate sock element be worn under the shoe or that the straps be permanently attached to the shoe.

    Abstract: A slipper designed to leave the wearer's toes exposed for enjoyment or for treatment such as a pedicure is provided. The slipper has a sole which may be of flexible and pliable material or may be relatively rigid. A cushioned insole may also be used and connected to the sole. At the margin of the rear portion of the sole, a heel containing means is connected. The heel containing means is formed of a fold of material with the fold being joined to the sole. The free edges of the heel containing means are seamed together while also forming a passage for a tying cord or ribbon. The tying cord or ribbon is made captive in the passage by stitching it to the heel containing means at one point to prevent inadvertant removal of the cord or ribbon therefrom. An adjustable strap is connected to the margins of the sole so as to extend across the instep of the wearer.

Each boot comprises a sock, made of elastomeric material, preferably covered by nylon fabric on one or two sides, and an outsole, together with a back stay, a toe-cap and a foxing, made of non-cellular rubber and directly vulcanized as a unit on the sock. The resulting boot is long-lasting because the outsole does not become detached from the sock. Vulcanization is carried out in such a way that it does not affect the cellular elastomeric material.
