Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for a robust Self-Organizing Network (SON) framework that quantifies SON applications' control and management of a network into key performance indicators (KPI) that are leveraged to determine the impact of a SON application's effectiveness in regulating network parameters, which then dictates how the SON application operates. The disclosed framework is configured to receive multiple data streams from existing data sources, determine the performance of a node on a network, and then automatically perform SON operations based therefrom. The disclosed framework can utilize this information to predict additional and/or future opportunities for SON automation on the network, which can be based on an aggregate determination of a net performance gain (NPG) of the SON applications. Abstract: Techniques for tracking compute capacity of a scalable application service platform to perform dynamic bandwidth allocation for data flows associated with applications hosted by the service platform are disclosed. Some of the techniques may include allocating a first amount of bandwidth of a physical underlay of a network for data flows associated with an application. The techniques may also include receiving, from a scalable application service hosting the application, an indication of an amount of computing resources of the scalable application service that are allocated to host the application. Based at least in part on the indications, a second amount of bandwidth of the physical underlay to allocate for the data flows may be determined. The techniques may also include allocating the second amount of bandwidth of the physical underlay of the network for the data flows associated with the application.

  • Patent number: 11937123
Abstract: A network device receives, from a congestion controller, traffic policy information associated with a data stream between a sender and a receiver, where the traffic policy information includes a maximum round trip delay time (RTT) and a maximum throughput rate (Rate). The network device obtains a receiver advertised window size (RWND) for the receiver for the data stream. The network device modifies the RWND based on the RTT and the Rate to produce a modified receiver window size (RWND?) and sends the RWND? to the sender for use in controlling congestion on the data stream between the sender and the receiver.

Abstract: Systems and methods for multicast send duplication instead of replication in a high performance computing environment. A method can provide a plurality of switches, a plurality of hosts, the plurality of hosts being interconnected via the plurality of switches, wherein a host of the plurality of hosts comprises a multicast sender node, the sender node comprising a system image generation module and a current message sequence module. The method can organize the plurality of switches into two rails, the two or more rails providing redundant connectivity between the plurality of hosts. The method can send two or more duplicate multicast packets on different rails. Upon a receiving node receiving at least two versions of the same multicast packet, only one will be delivered to the communication stack/clients above the layer that handles the encapsulation header.

  • Patent number: 11929939
Abstract: A system and method remotely allocate bandwidth among content consumers on a computing network based on optimizing an aggregate objective pertaining to a plurality of flows of content. The system and method create a profile for each flow of the plurality of flows from a content provider to a content consumer on the computing network. Information is stored in each profile based on at least a metric associated with the corresponding flow. A target bandwidth for each profile is computed remotely, based on optimizing an aggregate objective pertaining to the plurality of flows of content. The optimizing is also based on the information stored in their respective profiles. The system and method distribute the bandwidth to each flow of the plurality of flows based on the target bandwidth remotely computed for each profile.

Abstract: Herein are techniques for dynamic aggregation of results of a database request, including concurrent grouping of result items in memory based on quasi-dense keys. Each of many computational threads concurrently performs as follows. A hash code is calculated that represents a particular natural grouping key (NGK) for an aggregate result of a database request. Based on the hash code, the thread detects that a set of distinct NGKs that are already stored in the aggregate result does not contain the particular NGK. A distinct dense grouping key for the particular NGK is statefully generated. The dense grouping key is bound to the particular NGK. Based on said binding, the particular NGK is added to the set of distinct NGKs in the aggregate result.
