Abstract: The guard-space reference disclosed herein is a signal transmitted in the guard spaces separating message data intervals, and configured to reveal amplitude noise or phase noise or both, using 5G or 6G technology. For example, the transmitter can transmit an I-branch with a predetermined amplitude level, and an orthogonal Q branch with zero amplitude, in the guard space. The receiver can measure the received amplitude and phase of the guard-space reference, subtract the initial amplitude and phase, and thereby measure both phase noise and amplitude noise. The receiver can then subtract the measured amplitude and phase effects from the message data, thereby negating both phase noise and amplitude noise. Guard-space references disclosed herein can preserve the inter-subcarrier orthogonality, inter-symbol separation, and signal circularity advantages of prior art, while additionally providing both amplitude noise and phase noise mitigation. Examples are suitable for wireless standards.

  • Patent number: 11658701
Abstract: Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology exploits modulated coded impulses over a wide frequency spectrum with very low power over a short distance for digital data transmission. Today's leading edge modulated sinusoidal wave wireless communication standards and systems achieve power efficiencies of 50 nJ/bit employing narrowband signaling schemes and traditional RF transceiver architectures. However, such designs severely limit the achievable energy efficiency, especially at lower data rates such as below 1 Mbps. Further, it is important that peak power consumption is supportable by common battery or energy harvesting technologies and long term power consumption neither leads to limited battery lifetimes or an inability for alternate energy sources to sustain them. Accordingly, it would be beneficial for next generation applications to exploit inventive transceiver structures and communication schemes in order to achieve the sub nJ per bit energy efficiencies required by next generation applications.

Abstract: This document describes methods, devices, systems, and means for disengaged-mode active coordination set (ACS) management. A user equipment (110) uses an ACS for joint wireless communication between the user equipment (110) and multiple base stations (120) included in the ACS. The user equipment (110) receives a resource configuration for an ACS Disengaged-mode Reference Signal (ADRS). The user equipment (110) transitions to a disengaged mode (424) and receives the ADRS. The user equipment (110) determines that an updated ACS is required, transmits a message or a sounding signal indicating the need for the updated ACS, and in response, receives the updated ACS from a master base station (121).

Abstract: Technologies directed to Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) channel assessment mechanisms are described. A processing device of a first wireless device identifies a channel identifier corresponding to a first operating channel being used by a first radio of the first wireless device to communicate with a first access point (AP) enabled on a radio of a second wireless device. The processing device identifies multiple devices in proximity to the first wireless device using a second radio. The processing device determines an airtime utilization percentage value for each operating channel of the second radio and determines a number of radar events for each DFS channel. • Patent number: 11172473
Abstract: Embodiments herein include a method in a user equipment (UE) for transmitting uplink control information in time slots of a subframe over a radio channel to a radio base station. The uplink control information is comprised in a block of bits. The UE maps the block of bits to a sequence of complex valued modulation symbols. The UE block spreads the sequence across Discrete Fourier Transform Spread-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (DFTS-OFDM) symbols. This is performed by applying a spreading sequence to the sequence of complex valued modulation symbols, to achieve a block spread sequence of complex valued modulation symbols. The UE further transforms the block-spread sequence, per DFTS-OFDM symbol. This is performed by applying a matrix that depends on a DFTS-OFDM symbol index and/or slot index to the block-spread sequence. The UE also transmits the block spread sequence, as transformed, over the radio channel to the radio base station.

  • Patent number: 11147072
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some cases, devices such as band limited (BL) or coverage enhancement (CE) user equipment (UE) having limited transmitting and receiving capability may operate using a subset of a system bandwidth of a carrier (e.g., narrowbands). To support frequency hopping or frequency diversity in transmissions, for example, such devices may utilize retuning when a resource allocation moves from a first narrowband to a second narrowband. Retuning, however, may create challenges when transmitting and receiving capability is limited. Aspects of this disclosure may support a flexible starting physical resource block (PRB) for indicating new resource allocations for BL or CE UEs. In some aspects, a UE is disclosed which may retune between consecutive transmission time intervals (TTIs) or subframes, for example, from a first tuning band to a second tuning band (e.g., a newly defined retuning narrowband).
