  • Patent number: 11997146
Abstract: Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) restoration for a user equipment (UE) may be automatically triggered in response to the UE receiving a message waiting indicator (MWI) or a text message via a fallback protocol that is used as a backup for a primary protocol for delivering the MWI or the text message. For example, if a UE receives a MWI via Non-Access Stratum (NAS) protocol (where NAS protocol serves as a fallback protocol for Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) to deliver the MWI when IMS-based services are unavailable), an IMS restoration procedure may be triggered for the UE where the UE sends a request to register for one or more services of a telecommunication service provider in an effort to restore IMS-based services for the UE, thereby allowing calls to be subsequently established with the UE.

  • Patent number: 11989585
Abstract: A transcoding service is described that is capable optimizing media transcoding jobs according to the licensing model associated with a particular transcoder being utilized. The service can receive a request to transcode the media content from a user and inspect an SLA to determine the parameters for the transcoding job, such as the time interval to complete the job or the price of performing the job. The service can then identify a licensing cost associated with transcoding the media content. For example, the licensing cost being based at least in part on a number of running instances of the transcoder. The transcoding service may apply a weight to the licensing cost when prioritizing the transcoding jobs. For example, the service may determine an optimal number of concurrently executing transcoder instances to utilize to reduce the licensing costs associated with the transcoding jobs.

  • Patent number: 11985566
Abstract: An Automatic Emergency Call Initiator (AECI) initiates an automatic emergency call protocol on a mobile communication system, which can be done using signaling messages. The user uses the AECI to initiate the call on a mobile station. GPS or other location data is automatically determined. Data is stored on an Emergency Notification Server (ENS) associated with an event identifier for easy retrieval or notification to emergency responders. The ENS generates an automated call to a call center and also supports the automatic emergency call protocol by storing GPS and identifying info on mobile stations meeting location criteria of the AECI initiated call. The ENS can also tag a mobile station to continue tracking mobile stations coming within a specified distance of the mobile station. A security alert protocol for predetermined mobile stations detected by a network can also be implemented using the ENS.

  • Patent number: 11924252
Abstract: Methods and network devices implement a lawful interception (LI) trigger control function as an LI target handler and a modified trigger control function. A generic LI triggering interface enables the modified trigger control function to query the LI target handler regarding whether entities using a network function instance are in a target list. The LI target handler has to meet the LI security requirements, but the modified trigger control function does not have to meet such requirements.

  • Patent number: 11924150
Abstract: Implementations are directed to enabling a representative associated with an entity to quickly and efficiently modify a voice bot associated with the entity. The voice bot can be previously trained to communicate with user(s) on behalf of the entity through various communication channels (e.g., a telephone communication channel, a software application communication channel, a messaging communication channel, etc.). Processor(s) of a computing device can receive, from the representative, representative input to modify behavior(s) and/or parameter(s) that the voice bot utilizes in communicating with the plurality of users via the communication channels, determine whether the representative is authorized to cause the behavior(s) and/or parameter(s) to be modified, and cause the behavior(s) and/or parameter(s) to be modified in response to determining that the representative is authorized.

  • Patent number: 11917098
Abstract: A communication system mitigating the risk of an incoming spoofed caller. The method involves issuing a token or a digital certificate to each network connection of a user, such as to each member of a social media platform to which the user is connected. The method includes determining a validity of the token or certificate of the network connection with a receiving party, which may be performed in response to searching and identifying the receiving party by a calling party. The method includes transmitting a message to the receiving party by the calling party in response to the validity confirmation of the token or the digital certificate. A message is transmitted that includes a calling identifier to be displayed to provide calling ID to the receiving party and a time of the intended call. The message may provide connection details, mutual connections, and historical events with the calling party.

  • Patent number: 11917040
Abstract: An agent is installed on a computing device of a vehicle (e.g., an ECU); the agent receives messages from an application installed on the same computing device. The computing device is connected to a gateway computing device via a physical communication channel (e.g., CAN bus or Ethernet cable). When the gateway agent receives a message from the application, it converts the message into a different protocol based on a mapping of the protocols to physical communication channels. The message is sent to a gateway agent at the gateway device, where it is converted back to the original protocol so the message can be processed/transmitted to the internet. By using an agent, the in-vehicle application does not need to know about the vehicle's network architecture or changes to it in order to access the internet.

According to an embodiment, an application server (AS) of the IMS receives from a terminal device a first request for initiating a call service and an internet service which are to be integrated with each other. The AS of the IMS sends a second request for initiating the internet service to a gateway server that acts as a gateway to an internet AS capable of providing the internet service. In response to a reply from the gateway server, the AS of the IMS handles the first request based on the reply.

  • Patent number: 11909918
Abstract: A universal contact center service access point is mapped to a service access point specific to a determined modality to establish a connection between a user device and a contact center operator device and associated with that modality. A request for a contact center engagement is obtained from a user device, in which the request includes a universal contact center service access point. Responsive to the request, the universal contact center service access point is mapped, based on a record associating multiple modalities with the universal contact center service access point, to a service access point specific to one of those multiple modalities determined based on information associated with the user device. The contact center engagement is then facilitated over a connection, established based on the mapping, between the user device and a contact center operator device associated with the service access point.

Abstract: A system and method for providing network and port address translation is provided. A global IP address and a block (chunk) of ports are allocated for each mobile subscriber (MS) on first data connection. Subsequent data connections from the same MS are assigned the same IP address and a new port from this block. The mapping information is communicated, processed, and stored once for the complete block, instead of for every new data connection. This process reduces processing, communication, and storage requirements.
