  • Patent number: 11834243
Abstract: A flexible film, and articles comprising the film, comprises interleaved pluralities of each of first bands and second bands disposed adjacent to the first bands. Both the first and second bands have a length and a width; the first bands comprise a first film basis weight and first and second regions. The first regions and second regions being comprised of the same material composition. The first regions undergo a substantially molecular-level deformation and the second regions initially undergo a substantially geometric deformation when the sheet material is subjected to an applied elongation along at least one axis. The second bands comprise a second film basis weight and a plurality of corrugations disposed along the length of the band. In this aspect the material may be described as having alternating bands of structural-elastic-like film and ring-rolled film.

Abstract: The present invention relates to pharmaceutical fluids, and more particularly to a flexible container for aseptic transfer and/or mixing of pharmaceutical fluids. A biocontainer for the transfer of pharmaceutical fluids includes a flexible layer divided by a fold line into a front face and a rear face. The layer is folded about the fold line such that the front face and the rear face are facing each other to define an interior space between them. The biocontainer also includes a seam that connects the front and rear faces to each other to close the interior space. A fill port is also provided to communicate with the interior space. This fill port is intersected by the fold line.

Abstract: A utility bag having a closure arrangement coupled with opposing first and second panels of the utility bag. The first closure member coupled to the first panel at about an entrance of the utility bag. The first closure member includes a pair of parallel bulbous elements which form a longitudinal channel parallel to the entrance of the utility bag. A second closure member includes a third bulbous element having an interfacing surface complementary with an interfacing surface of the longitudinal channel to form an overlapping closure arrangement. Counterpart strips of hook/loop fasteners coupled to complementary interfacing surfaces associated with the first and second closure members are used to maintain the utility bag in a closed state. The bulbous elements may be formed from deformable materials disposed in sleeves which surround the entrance to the utility bag.

Abstract: The present disclosure concerns flexible reclosable containers with a one way valve which provides a means to vent fluids, particularly air, from the interior of container when the repeatedly reclosable closure member, typically a zipper, is in a closed state. It also concerns a process for creating such a valve using a seal bar with voids to create a channel which passes behind the closure member. The valve which is disclosed involves a channel which comprises a central passageway which connects a port which communicates with the environment to a port which communicates with the interior of the package. Also disclosed is the concept of using this valve with a readily removable hermetic seal such that the port intended to communicate the environment initially communicates with the headspace between the reclosable closure member and the hermetic seal but does communicate with the environment when the hermetic seal is removed.
