  • Patent number: 6224174
Abstract: A poster display apparatus provides a slanted back, a curved front, opposing sides, and a bottom that define an interior space. The apparatus holds posters therein in an upright display position. An antislip member of the apparatus reduces the relative movement of the posters to one another and to the apparatus. The front and back slant backward near the bottom portion of the posters causing the bottom portions of the posters to slant backward. The backward slant also reduces movement of the posters during browsing. One alternative includes an adjustable front and back to maintain the relative distance and force between the front and the posters, the back and the posters, and the posters themselves further reducing the slippage of the posters during browsing.

  • Patent number: 5479734
Abstract: A system for filing documents in a filing cabinet with a suspension rod. A suspension strip is fixed to a top edge of each document, and includes an orifice for receiving the suspension rod, and notches with an edge interposed therebetween. The notches and edges are identical from one suspension strip to one another. A scale is positioned behind the suspension strips of the documents, and displays identification information which is aligned with grooves formed by alignment of the notches of adjacent suspension strips. A tab fixed to a top portion of the suspension strip constitutes a guide mark for the document corresponding to which the suspension strip is fixed, wherein the tabs of different suspension strips are of different colors, and each color is associated with identification information which is displayed on the top portion of the scale for identifying documents.

  • Patent number: 4571867
Abstract: The present invention is an improved information organizing device fashioned from a sheet material in which columns of parallel slits are made. These slits form columns of opposing, downwardly converging legs of material. Between these legs of material is placed a pinch crease that imparts a twist in the legs raising certain edges of the legs and thus facilitating the insertion of information vehicles such as memo cards.

  • Patent number: 4400899
Abstract: The album has an imperforate backing member. Attached to the backing member are a plurality of transverse, parallel rectilinear strips each coated at its underside with adhesive. The strips are each adhered to the top face of the backing member, each strip having a section inclined away from and free of the top face of the backing member. Adhered to each of the inclined sections of the strips is a bent-back section of a transverse release ribbon. The ribbons have extending tab portions which may be grasped by fingers of a user to pull the release ribbon off and away from the strip to uncover the adhesive-coated inclined section or portion of the strip. The ribbons and inclined portions of the strip form adhesive-free wedge shaped spaces into which photographic snapshots may be inserted in predetermined overlapping relationship.

  • Patent number: 4386475
Abstract: My invention provides a movable overrider system for moving a reference element board 15r over the front faces of track-supported module boards 15 of a modular scheduling board system 10. An upper wall track 12 supports a trolley bracket 20 that carries a pair of wheels 21 engaging a retainer lip 17 and resting on a path 14 of the upper wall track 12, while lower track 11 supports boards 15. Holders 25 on the lower edge 24 of trolley bracket 20 hold the back of the reference element board 15r to hang downward from the trolley bracket. Holders 25 and bracket 20 are dimensioned to suspend reference board 15r at the same vertical level as track-supported boards 15 so that reference board 15r can roll along the length of tracks 11 and 12 and override the track-supported boards while staying in horizontal alignment.

  • Patent number: 4344242
Abstract: A machine for the manufacture of a panel file for the storage of flat, flexible data elements is herein disclosed. A sheet of flexible resilient material is unrolled from an arbor. The material is cut into strips and rolled onto reels. The strips are substantially narrower than the depth of the pockets to be formed in the panel file. The reels are mounted on a strip aligning mechanism so that as the strips are unloaded from the reels they are in a parallel overlapping relationship. The strips are then pulled through an accumulator and placed in a heat sealing die. In the heat sealing die, the strips are joined to each other proximate the ends thereof to form a layered panel of overlapping pocket entrances. Also in the heat sealing die, a pocket forming sheet is attached to the back of the layered panel of strips.

  • Patent number: 4328631
Abstract: A card rack includes parallel pairs of coplanar fins that extend inwardly from side walls whose spacing is adjustable. The inner edges of the coplanar fins are spaced apart so as to provide a passage for an elongated stop member that extends through all the compartments. Holes in tabs at both ends of the stop member receive self-tapping screws. The threaded portions of the screws engage opposed faces of upper and lower pairs of fins to secure the stop member in place. The screws can be loosened to slide the stop member along the upper and lower compartments and thereby adjust the depth of all the compartments.

  • Patent number: 4232463
Abstract: A panel file, for the storage of flat, flexible data elements, consists of plural, vertically spaced pockets, the entrances of which are formed by a plurality of vertically spaced, horizontally extending strips of resilient material. The strips are arranged so as to have an upper edge which overlaps the lower portion of the next upwardly adjacent strip. The strips are fastened together at their lateral margins. The lower portions of the pockets are formed by a support sheet which is attached to the panel on the surface opposite the pocket entrances. The support sheet is cut so as to have a column of inverted "V"-shaped straps, each having a vertex which is attached to the back of strips above overlapped portions thereof. The strips have an upwardly indented bottom edge with a central vertex at the point where the support sheet strap is attached to the next downwardly adjacent strip.
