Tire Or Wheel Patents (Class 40/587)
  • Patent number: 11807041
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a wheel cover that is coupled to a wheel of a vehicle utilizing a mounting assembly that has a bearing block. A retainer assembly in combination with the bearing block of the mounting assembly allows the wheel cover to be coupled to the wheel in a manner such that the wheel cover does not rotate with the forward and backward rotation of the wheel when the vehicle is being driven. The wheel cover covers the wheel and partially covers a gap or space between a tire of the wheel and a fender of the vehicle, which increases the aerodynamic performance of the vehicle. The retainer assembly provides at least one degree of freedom such that the wheel cover may move with the wheel when steering the vehicle in a leftward direction and a rightward direction.

Abstract: A weather and wear resistant rubber ID unit for a tire with a selected pattern on the ID unit is made by scanning a outer layer of the rubber unit with a laser beam from a high powered CO2 laser operated at a less than full power output, to ablate the outer layer in the form of the selected pattern to expose an inner layer of the unit which has a contrasting color. Loose and residue particles are removing using a vacuum and a cleaning fluid contain alcohol and a surface active agent such as soap. The fluid is rinsed away and the unit is dried for use.

Abstract: A one way free spinning hubcap assembly having a decorative hubcap and a bracket assembly. The bracket assembly is attached to a vehicular wheel and the hubcap is rotatably attached thereto. A bearing clutch present in the bracket assembly permits the hubcap to rotate independently from the wheel when the wheel is rotated in one direction, but forces the hubcap to rotate concurrently with the wheel when rotational force is applied in the opposite direction. In this way the hubcap may be permitted to continue rotating after the associated wheel has ceased rotating.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a nonrotating billboard of a rotation body which is attached on a surface of a rotation center of a vertical rotation member such as vehicle wheel, fan, etc. for showing a nonrotating state of a pattern, emblem or advertisement irrespective of a rotation of a rotation body. The nonrotating billboard includes a housing rotated together with the rotation member, a billboard member having a surface on which a billboard is formed installed in the housing and rotatable relative thereto while maintaining an upright state through use of a weight member. The nonrotating billboard further includes a friction prevention unit for maintaining a free state of the billboard member such that the billboard is restricted from contacting the housing.

The present invention consists of a control housing 18 which is placed inside the inner portion of a motorcycle rim 20 so that it may be acted upon by centrifugal force. The control housing 18 has a lighting control 62 with a plurality of magnetic switches 34 to activate selective lighting 26, 28 and batteries 56 to power the lighting and a processor 58 to give the lighting a blinking or oscillating effect. Within the housing are tension springs. 60 having varying lengths so that different amounts of centrifugal forces are needed to activate the switches.

  • Patent number: 6536848
Abstract: A display wheel cover assembly connectable to a rotatable wheel of a vehicle. This invention includes an inner member rigidly connectable to the outside of the wheel and having a support-bearing member positioned coaxially with the wheel. A wheel cover having a coaxially extending support shaft is rotatably supported in the support-bearing member. An elongated cylindrical locking member is positioned within a longitudinal aperture formed through the support shaft. A cam member, connected to a distal end of the locking member, has a non-symmetric periphery such that, when properly rotatably orientated, are fully insertable into said support bearing member. In a second rotational orientation, the cam member prevents withdrawal of the support shaft from the support-bearing member. A counterweight attached to the wheel cover prevents rotation of the wheel cover. Interchangeable display indicia attach to the wheel cover.
