  • Patent number: 6811345
Abstract: An interlocking fastener assembly has an insertion member, a receiving member, and a fastener. The receiving member has a guide opening with pockets which receive a polygonal locking portion of the insertion member during assembly. The locking portion has tapered sides and apexes to self center the insertion member. The guide opening pockets and sides allow limited rotation of the insertion member in the receiving member until a mechanical lock is created preventing further rotation of the insertion member. The mechanical lock allows a fastener to be threaded onto the insertion member without the use of a backup tool.

Abstract: This invention relates to a fastening device for an insulating glass panel. A punctiform holder (1) is used that is fastened by means of an adhesive (51) to the outside of the insulating glass plate (50). In the vicinity of the punctiform holder (1), a spacer piece (53) is inserted between the separated glass plates (2, 50). The invention further relates to a mounting element (5) with adjustable bias, whereby between a cap bell (10) and the mounting element (5) there is a permanently elastic spring element (7) that permits a relative movement of the cap bell (10) with respect to the mounting element (5). The invention further relates to the realization of a plurality of three-dimensional articulations (12, 13) between the insulating glass plate (2, 50) and the holder on the building side.

  • Patent number: 6561473
Abstract: A pipe mounting clamp assembly for mounting a pair of pipes to one another. The assembly also includes a bracket, and at least one pair of fasteners. The bracket has a base, and at least one saddle member attached to and extending from a surface of the base. In the preferred embodiment, the saddle member has at least two different radial support surfaces for supporting pipes of different diameters. The support surfaces are knurled or ridged to provide a good grip of a pipe supported thereon. In one embodiment of the invention, the bracket has two saddle members, two pairs of elongated slots, and two pairs of apertures in the base. One of the fasteners is secured to the base through the apertures and the other fastener is secured to the base through the elongated slots. The major portion of one fastener extends above the surface of the base from which the saddle member extends, and a major portion of the other fastener extends from a surface of the base opposite the surface supporting the saddle members.

  • Patent number: 6543751
Abstract: A rail bracket apparatus for connecting a first rail and a second rail which includes a back piece, a bottom piece, and a bottom support system. The back piece includes screw attachment openings and the edges of the bracket are adapted to facilitate installation of a supported rail. An offset spacer is attached to the back piece to allow for air circulation around said supported piece. The bottom piece can be curved to support rounded rails and may include a water passage opening to allow for drainage. The bottom support system includes an angle bracket and the bracket joints are strengthened with fillets. Side pieces are provided for supporting and holding the installed rail. The unit may be designed with an engineered failure mode to allow for bracket failure to occur before a rail failure would occur. A rail retaining system may be used to retain the rail in position. A rail slot extension may be used to support the bracket in association with a rail cutout.
