  • Patent number: 11754112
Abstract: The present specification discloses a locking fastener that includes a first threaded fastener axially positioned within an axial through hole of a second threaded fastener, and captured therein by a rotating joint that permits rotation of the first threaded fastener and the second threaded fastener relative to one another about a common thread axis. In one or more embodiments, the first threaded fastener thread handedness is opposite to the second threaded fastener thread handedness. Additionally disclosed, is a screwdriver tool configured to simultaneously engage and oppositely rotate the first threaded fastener and the second threaded fastener into a mating component having a first mating thread and a second mating thread configured to receive the first threaded fastener and the second threaded fastener, respectively, driven at the same axial advance distance for each turn. Once tightened, the present locking fastener resists loosening and provides a tamper-resistant hold.

Abstract: A lockout device for restricting access to a nut through which a stud passes in threaded engagement with the nut comprises a cylindrical cap and a corresponding adapter. The cap includes first and second opposite ends and has a hollow portion opening through the first end of sufficient size for receiving most or all of the nut. A threaded hole sized for threaded engagement with the stud extends in an axial direction through the second end of the cap to communicate with the cap's hollow portion. The adapter includes a leading end and a trailing end, and has a hexagonal configuration adjacent its trailing end and an axially extending stud hole through its leading end sized to accommodate the stud. The second end of the cap and the leading end of the adapter are configured for end-to-end coupling with one another, such as by providing pin holes and corresponding pins, to enable torque to be transmitted from the adapter to the cap while the cap is in threaded engagement with the stud.

  • Patent number: 6736579
Abstract: A screw device, an assembly for theft-proofing vehicle wheels, and a motor vehicle with theft-proofed vehicle wheels is disclosed. The screw device has a screw with a head and a threaded portion intended to be screwed into a thread of a wheel hub, a sleeve and a lock member. The threaded portion is intended to be screw into the thread of the wheel hub via a recess arranged in a central portion of a vehicle wheel. The lock member is an endless, smoothly undulating or curved lock member. The dimensions of the sleeve are adapted to the dimensions of the recess so that regions of the central portion adjacent to the recess encompass substantially entirely and closely a circumference of the sleeve when the threaded portion has been screwed into the thread. The invention can be applied to all types of vehicle wheels, and is particularly advantageous for exclusive private cars with special rims.

Abstract: A securing mechanism is provided which can be attached to a conventional meter box lid which does not require the lid to be redesigned. The securing mechanism comprises a holding member attached to the latch on the underside of the lid. A threaded aperture is formed in said holding member. A bolt having a threaded shaft is extended through the upper wall of the lid from the top side to be secured into the threaded aperture of the holding member for preventing a key from moving the latch member to a release position. In the embodiment disclosed, the bolt has a head with two spaced apart apertures formed therein for receiving two prong of tool for allowing the bolt shaft to be screwed into and from the threaded aperture for locking and release purposes.
