Auxiliary Device For Existing Plug Patents (Class 439/915)
  • Patent number: 8579664
Abstract: Manufacturers or vendors may desire to occlude connection ports on a device that are used to upload software onto the device. An implementation discloses inserting two pins into a first cavity of an Ethernet connector and two additional pins into a second cavity of the Ethernet connector. The pins may be bent over the connector and soldered to a printed circuit board. The four pins may correspond to the at least four pins required by a USB specification. Also disclosed is an adapter or cable that may connected.

  • Patent number: 7425139
Abstract: In a fixation structure for fixing a lamp on a printed circuit board (PCB), a connection end of the lamp is received within a connection hole of the PCB and a sleeve having approximately cone shape is disposed between the lamp and the PCB. When the connection end of the lamp is continuously inserted into the connection hole of the PCB, a contact area between the connection end and the connection hole is increased, thereby effectively enhancing a contact-and-on performance of the lamp and the PCB. Sleeves may be located on lamps leads or alternatively placed in the connection hole of the PCB.

  • Patent number: 7160143
Abstract: The present invention determines and monitors the connection pattern of data ports which are connected by multiconductor cables. An adapter jacket having an external contact is placed over a standardized cable such as an RJ45 cable which connects the data ports. An adapter board having a plurality of socket contacts is placed adjacent a plurality of data ports. An output and input module are coupled to the socket contacts. A micro-processor which is coupled to the output and input module scans the socket contacts to determine the connection pattern of the data ports.

  • Patent number: 6375493
Abstract: An improved electrical plug/socket includes a seat being a fixed-shaped structure, one end thereof having an insert electrode, the other end thereof having a depression forming a seat chamber, the center having a through hole, a seat edge of an outer periphery being recessed to form a plurality of seat grooves; at least two insert electrodes formed from electrically conductive metal; and a lead wire connected to the insert electrodes and extending out of the through hole, and having an outer diameter corresponding to the seat groove so as to be insertable in the seat groove for guiding orientation.

  • Patent number: 5944542
Abstract: A plug safety adapter is provided for preventing electric shock from occurring while handling an electric plug. The plug safety adapter is comprised of a cylindrical housing, a face plate and a spring which extends between the cylindrical housing and the face plate for applying a biasing force therebetween. The face plate and the spring are positioned inside the cylindrical housing, such that the face plate is moveable within the housing against the biasing force of the spring. The face plate has holes of the same size as those of the prongs of the electric plug for receiving the prongs, such that the face plate is secured to the electric plug and moves backward and forward with the electric plug. As the plug is pushed into an electrical outlet, the housing will push rearward of the prongs of the electric plug and rearward of the face plate. The forward end of the face plate will fit substantially flush with the lowermost end of the housing when the electric plug is fully inserted into the electrical outlet.

  • Patent number: 5731763
Abstract: An access controller for a television, computer or display device includes a wireless transmitter and a receiving unit. The receiving unit has a tamper-proof housing that covers the device power line and protects receiving and switching circuitry. The receiving circuitry receives and demodulates a control signal sent by the transmitter, and drives the switching circuitry between ON and OFF states. In a preferred embodiment, the housing has opposed halves which close about the device plug. A pigtail line cord extends from the housing and provides power through the switch, to the device plug. The housing itself is featureless, and the transmitter is an inconspicuous, pocketable, push-button device, so the TV or other device may be controlled without physically approaching or otherwise revealing either the nature of the control mechanism or even that the operator is exercising control.

  • Patent number: 5693552
Abstract: A ROM device with a 3-dimensional memory cell structure that allows a high packing density of memory cells in the ROM device. The ROM device includes a silicon substrate having a plurality of parallel trenches formed thereon. These trenches define mesa regions therebetween. Source/drain regions are then formed on the trenches and the mesa regions. Sidewall spacers are formed on lateral sides of selected trenches. A gate oxide layer is then formed over the silicon substrate. Gate layers are then formed on the gate oxide layers along a direction perpendicular to the trenches. These gate layers serve as word lines. The bit lines over the trenches and the mesa regions utilize channel areas between each neighboring pair of source/drain regions in the horizontal direction to define a plurality of horizontal memory cells at intersections with the word lines. Each horizontal memory cell can be programmed by ion implantation.
