The flange portion includes a flange disposed at an inner side of the bra cup, and an outer layer being disposed at an outer side of the bra cup and coupled to the flange. Further, a portion of the side-wing is disposed between the outer layer and the flange, and is attached to the outer layer by using at least one thread line. The at least one thread line is disposed on the outer side of the bra cup. Further, the inner side of the bra cup is devoid of thread line.

Abstract: A multipurpose nursing and pumping garment provides a nursing woman with a convenient way to both nurse and breast pump milk. The garment includes a first covering and a second covering arranged to form a surplice neckline. The length of a neckline edge of each covering provides freedom to move the first neckline edge from a covered position in which a wearer wears the first covering over a breast to a nursing position in which the wearer wears the first covering underneath the breast. Each covering is further provided with an aperture through which a breast shield may be inserted to pump milk. In some arrangements, each covering includes a lateral piece having a lateral edge and a medial piece having a medial edge. Each lateral edge and medial edge has bound and unbound portions. The aperture for each covering is created between each lateral edge and each medial edge.

The body may further include a mechanism for selectively modifying the shape of the body which may include a plurality of hollow pockets formed within the core and extending forwardly from the posterior face. The inner material may be of a defined shape or may be amorphous and conform to the shape of the elastomeric skin. The elastomeric skin can be formed from a front skin and a rear skin, and the skins can be made of a soft styrenic elastomer having attributes similar to a gel. The elastomeric skin can be substantially soft to the touch and have an elastic memory that tends to maintain the skin in a pliable yet pre-defined shape.

Abstract: A lifting and shaping system for a bra or other garment uses lift platforms shaped to fit into the cups of the bra and formed from thin material. The lift platforms are attached to the garment toward the center of the garment. Connectors having one end attached to the lift platform and the other end attached to a slide on the shoulder strap adjust the lift of the lift platform when the slide is moved. Flexible shaping members distribute the lift of the lift platforms and maintain the natural shape of the breasts as they are lifted. Smoothing shields ease the movement of the lift platforms and connectors within the cloth confines of the breast cups. The flexible shaping members may also perform some of the functions of a smoothing shield.

The pad is placed beneath and held in place by the fabric covering, and the covering is capable of absorbing the coupling agent and conducting ultrasonic energy with minimal interference.

Abstract: A ventilated padded material suitable for providing air circulation in padded lingerie is disclosed. Padded lingerie, for example, bras, typically are made from man-made materials that prevent perspiration from evaporating and then accumulates in the breast cup area. The retained perspiration causes discomfort to the wearer, as the surrounding breast area remains moist and damp. The ventilation channels or perforations in the padding material, in accordance with the principles of the present invention, enable air circulation to occur through the padding material. Increased air circulation through the padding material allows for perspiration evaporation and less accumulated perspiration.

A curved reinforcing element carried along lower and edges of the breast cup lifting the inner and outer cups when the brassiere is worn and the shoulder straps are in a properly adjusted position. Means are providing for securing the inner and outer cups together at selected areas. Upper free edges of the inner and outer edges are unattached to permit relative movements of the free edges during adjustment of the shoulder straps so that the inner cups remain firmly against the breast to enhance breast cleavage appearance while the outer cups provide a fuller breast appearance.

Abstract: A mastectomy garment for retaining a breast prosthesis in place on the anterior chest wall of a mastectomy patient. A combination bandeau/bra includes a normal bra cup for the natural breast (unless the patient has undergone a double mastectomy, in which case no normal bra cup is required), and a fold down cup for the prosthesis. Beneath the fold down cup a bandeau conforms to the anatomy of the patient's chest and presents a surface of hook and loop fastening material for the attachment of the breast prosthesis which carries mating hook and loop material on the posterior side. In one embodiment, the bandeau over the mastectomy site is provided with fenestration to improve the breathability of the site. The hook and loop fastening material on the bandeau covers substantially the entire portion of the bandeau over the mastectomy site allowing flexibility in the placement of the breast prosthesis on the bandeau.

Abstract: A breast prosthesis and an underwire adapted to retain the breast prosthesis. The breast prosthesis is affixed to the underwire by an attachment fixture molded into the posterior (or chest side) of the prosthesis. The attachment fixture, a female plug, is complementary to a retention fixture, a male plug, molded into a loop on the underwire. The loop of the underwire is adapted to provide a spring bias of the male plug against the chest wall of the wearer for a secure and comfortable fit and to provide sensory feedback as to the correct positioning of the prosthesis. The attachment fixture and the retention fixture are preferably essentially spherical in outline so as to form a ball and socket connection. The underwire is carried by a bandeau which may be removably attached to an unmodified bra.

Abstract: A breast and chest protector for women athletes designed to protect the breast and upper chest area from impacts caused by bodily contact with other athletes and from balls in play. The breast and chest protector comprises a soft, rubberized foam exterior with a hard, high density plastic internal breast plate. The breast plate is hinged to provide for longitudinal flexing along the sternum between the right and left cups. The breast and chest protector is secured to the chest of a woman by means of adjustable shoulder and back straps that hook around a woman's back. The soft, rubberized foam exterior allows for adequate control of a ball in play as may be required in a sport such as soccer.

Clamp means are provided to position and maintain the brassiere in position on a person with their breasts disposed in the breast receiving cups. Each breast receiving cups includes a centrally disposed support portion that is sized and configured to be wider at a position thereof beneath the wearer's breast and which extends therefrom tapering inwardly, passing over the wearer's nipple to a relatively narrow end connected to the bra strap above what would otherwise be an upper periphery of the breast cup. Each support portion includes a substantially 1/16 inch thick foam piece covered by a piece of material with an aesthetic surface treatment such as lace all secured together by being peripherally sewn into the breast cup construction.

The second pocket is disposed in overlapping relation to the first pocket such that any tab on the front prosthesis in the first pocket which extends out of the first pocket opening will be covered by the second pocket to prevent contact of the prosthesis tab with the skin of the wearer.

Abstract: A figure adjusting pad is capable of permitting a periphery of the pad to exhibit satisfactory shape retention without any independent core. The pad includes a silicone gel element formed therein with perforations and a stretchable fabric arranged for covering the silicone gel element and is trimmed. The perforations of the silicone gel element are formed by traces defined by elution of particles incorporated in a silicone gel stock solution for the silicone gel element. The trimmed portion includes the silicone gel element and is double-sewn together with the silicone gel element.
