  • Patent number: 8656637
Abstract: A cold frame is formed with lateral wall elements containing transparent hollow chamber panels, and supports which are provided with lateral flanges. The lateral wall elements include lateral edge areas provided with through-passages and formed by the hollow chamber panels thereof, and rest against the flanges of the supports. The lateral wall elements are connected to the supports by clamping devices. The clamping devices include clamping elements which rest against the inner sides of the hollow cavity panels forming the edge areas of the lateral wall elements and are clamped between the hollow cavity panels and the tops of positioning bars belonging to the clamping devices. The bars protrude from the through-passages of the hollow chamber panels and they are rigidly connected to the flanges of the supports.

  • Patent number: 7966766
Abstract: The instant invention provides a kit for assembly of a raised garden bed. The raised garden bed includes panel members, corner connector members, and linear connector members constructed of a polymeric material and adapted to be snapped together into a substantially rigid raised garden bed without the need for special tools or excessive strength. A tongue and groove arrangement is also provided to allow for panel member stacking for increased garden bed height. The components of the kit are constructed and arranged to be packed into a relatively small profile for shipping and transport and are generally light enough to be loaded and unloaded without the need for equipment such as a forklift or pallet jack.

  • Patent number: 6892743
Abstract: A portable, modular greenhouse system that can be used to protect plants from harsh conditions. A green house according to the invention comprises a frame and a cover. The frame preferably comprises at least one panel constructed from a mesh of rigid wire, with a spacing between adjacent wires which is large enough to permit a gardener's hand to pass therethrough. The panels are preferably flexible and resilient, so that they return to their original shape after being bent. The cover preferably has sleeves formed in opposite edges thereof. Slats may be inserted into the sleeves, so that when the cover is on the frame the slats are located near the bottom of the frame, thereby weighing down the cover to keep it in place. The ends of the slats may be inserted through the mesh of the panels to further secure the cover to the frame.

  • Patent number: 6594957
Abstract: A greenhouse includes a frame structure (1), an outer transparent covering layer (2), and a transparent inner layer (7). A transparent insulating sheet-like material is located between the inner and outer layers in close proximity to the inner layer (8). The insulating sheet-like material has a cellular structure (4, 5) with the axis of its cells generally oriented normal to the plane thereof material so as to transmit incident light therethrough. The insulation material helps to retain heat within the structure while avoiding detrimental effects, such as loss of light transmissivity. The creation of an air gap on one side between the transparent insulation and one of the glazings allows for control of moisture and snow buildup.
