Flexible Belt In Drive Train Patents (Class 476/16)
  • Patent number: 9726264
Abstract: A continuously variable transmission includes a housing, an input assembly, a driven assembly, an output assembly, and a speed changing rod. The input assembly, the driven assembly, and the output assembly are rotatably assembled to the housing. The input assembly includes a power input shaft and a first friction member fixedly sleeved on the power input shaft. The driven assembly is positioned oppositely to the input assembly. The driven assembly includes a rotation shaft and a second friction member fixedly sleeved on the rotation shaft. The output assembly includes a power output shaft and a rotational wheel non-rotatably sleeved on the power output shaft and engaging between the first friction member and the second friction member. Rotations of the first friction member and the second friction member rotate the power output shaft, a transmission ratio of continuously variable transmission is adjustable by moving the speed changing rod.

  • Patent number: 6604039
Abstract: The trunnion (23) of a vehicle toroidal continuously variable transmission is displaced by a step motor (52) via a control valve (56) and oil pressure servo cylinder (50) in order to vary a speed ratio of the transmission. A controller (80) calculates a target value (z*) of a control variable (z) based on an accelerator pedal depression amount (APS) and output disk rotation speed (&ohgr;co) (S5). Further, a time-variant coefficient (f) showing the relation between the trunnion displacement (y) and variation rate ({dot over (&phgr;)}) of the gyration angle (&phgr;) of the power roller, is calculated (S10). The error between the speed change response of the transmission and a target linear characteristic can be decreased by determining a command value (u) to the step motor (52) under a control gain determined based on a time differential ({dot over (f)}) of the coefficient (f) (S20).

  • Patent number: 5267919
Abstract: An infinitely variable-speed mechanic drive apparatus is capable of providing a positive non-slip drive and includes a support; a driving shaft mounted rotatably on the support; a driven gear mounted axially and rotatably on the driving shaft; an intermediate transmission member disposed in a transverse direction to and mounted rotatably on the driving shaft. The intermediate transmission member includes an intermediate shaft, a driving wheel mounted rotatably on and shiftable in an axial direction of the intermediate shaft, the driving wheel being in frictional contact with the support, a biasing member biasing the driving wheel towards the axis of the driving shaft, and a driven transmission shaft rotatable around an axis parallel to the longitudinal direction of the intermediate shaft. The driven transmission shaft has a worm member which meshes with the driven gear, and a first drive member transmitting the rotating force of the driving wheel to the driven transmission shaft.
