Abstract: A hingeless door system for a pressure vessel; especially, aeronautic and astronautic crafts. The door system has the following major components: a contour in a pressure vessel wall, a doorway opening, a seal, an upper track, a lower track and a door. The door translocates laterally along the tracks from an open position to a closing position and moves radailly along the tracks to a sealing position against the contour which closes the door opening. The problem solved by the invention is to reduce weight, operational volume and complexity and increase durability of a door system for pressure vessel.

  • Patent number: 7997028
Abstract: An internal swivel door for an aircraft compartment. A door frame for entering the compartment includes a horizontal element and at least one door leaf which is mounted inside the door frame wherein the door leaf is turned about a vertical door rotational axis. The vertical door rotational axis is moved in parallel along a predetermined local curve. In order to take up less space during opening and closing of the door and to be able to operate the door with the least possible force, the door has a rotary sliding joint between the door leaf and the horizontal element. The door leaf has a rotational movement about a momentary rotational axis running through the rotary sliding joint wherein the momentary rotational axis is moved in parallel both in relation to the horizontal element and the door leaf.

  • Patent number: 5907926
Abstract: An operator for a jalousie window includes a linkage with two toggle joints. The toggle joints assist in locking the window in its fully opened or fully closed position. The toggle joints of the operator are actuated by an actuating lever which is mounted to the window frame of the jalousie window so as to provide a mechanical advantage to operation of the jalousie window. The mechanical advantage afforded by the operator allows relatively heavy jalousie window louvers and associated moving components to be actuated by means of a tolerable range of actuating forces. The operating linkage is equipped with brakes which permit the louvers of the window to be maintained in any number of fixed orientations between the fully opened and fully closed position of the window.

  • Patent number: 5369912
Abstract: A door which can be automatically opened and closed can have an additional releasable connection for allowing the door panels to be manually opened by disengaging the door panels from the device for automatically opening and closing the doors. In particular, two-panel doors which execute a combined sliding and rotational motion around a vertical axis of rotation during the closing and opening motion can be configured with such a device to make it possible to use the doors in evacuation and emergency routes, i.e. routes in which a manual force can be applied from inside to open the door panels. Further, so that the door does not remain open, there can also preferably be switches or circuits in the construction which indicate that a manual opening of the door panels has occurred, in which case an electronic signal can be generated to place the drive device in motion, to thereby automatically restore the connection between the door panels and the drive system.
