Actuator At Remote Station Patents (Class 49/302)
  • Patent number: 8261491
Abstract: A door assembly includes a first door skin, a second door skin spaced apart from the first door skin and a door operator disposed between the first door skin and the second door skin. An arm extends from the door operator. The door operator includes a motor moving the arm to move the door between a closed position and an open position and between the open position and the closed position. A current sensor generates a current signal corresponding to the current to the motor. A position sensor in communication with the door arm generates a position signal corresponding to the position of the door relative to the frame. A controller communicates with the sensor and the motor. The controller controls a motor current to the motor in response to the current signal and the position signal.

Abstract: A portable, tactical building door opener which comprises a door opening mechanism comprising: a body; a door opening arm pivotally connected to the body at a first end and having a roller for engaging the surface of the door at a second end; and an actuator for rotating the door opening arm with respect to the body, from a ready position in which the roller is not forced against the surface of the door, to a door-opened position in which the roller is forced against the surface of the door to open the door. The actuator is remotely and manually operable. The device further includes a support for temporarily and removably bracing the door opening mechanism with respect to the door.

  • Patent number: 5263281
Abstract: A security gate system including a supporting structure and a gate mounted on the supporting structure for pivotal movement about a generally horizontal pivot axis between a closed position and an open position. A drive wheel is rotatably mounted on the supporting structure and is drivingly coupled to the gate so that rotation of the drive wheel in a gate opening direction drives the gate from the closed position to the open position. A first motor drives the drive wheel and a releasable lock releasably holds the drive wheel against rotation in the gate opening direction. A second motor moves a locking member of the releasable lock to a releasing position to allow the gate to be moved to the open position. The gate system may include two of the gates having operators sharing the same supporting structure.

  • Patent number: 5218784
Abstract: An apparatus for opening and closing a top bin lid from below such that, when in the fully opened position, the lid will not extend above the plane of the opening. The apparatus utilizes an elongated lever arm pivotally mounted on the pivot axis of the bin lid. A flexible linkage, such as a chain extends from below, over the lever arm and is connected to a gravity biased latch system which holds the lid in the closed position until the chain is pulled from below. After the latch is released, further drawing of the chain will pivot the lid and arm about their common pivot axis until the arm is obstructed from further movement by the bin. Continued pulling of the chain will draw the lid toward the lever arm against spring pressure until the lid has been pivoted approximately 180.degree. from its closed position.

  • Patent number: 4854076
Abstract: An air cylinder operates a loose link cam fixed to a rod which pivots the hatch cover which is normally latched closed. As the cylinder is operated, the first portion of the movement unlatches the cover and the remainder of the movement swings the cover up to an over centre position whereupon it falls by gravity to the fully opened position without any further movement of the cylinder. The loose link cam permits the cover to move through approximately 180.degree. during the opening motion. when closing the cover, the same action takes place with the latch moving to the closed position by means of a spring and being displaced by the cover falling to the closed position by gravity once it has been moved by the loose link cam to the over centre position. The upper surface of the latch hook is curved so that the edge of the cover cross bar strikes the latch and displaces same as the cover closes and which is then returned to the latching position by the spring.

  • Patent number: 4183177
Abstract: A remote controlled automobile door opening system having solenoid assemblies for unlocking, unlatching and partially opening the automobile door in response to a remote radio signal. The unlocking, unlatching and partial opening of the door occur sequentially after the radio signal is received.
