Tread Unit On Horizontal Tread Member Connected To Riser Patents (Class 52/188)
  • Patent number: 10890006
Abstract: A molded pool step, a method of fabricating the pool step and a method of matching a decorative pattern on the pool step to the decorative pattern on a pool liner is disclosed. The pool step is fabricated by applying a decorative pattern to one surface of a transparent sheet of moldable material; positioning the sheet of material on a pool step mold such that the sheet contacts a molding surface of the pool step mold; molding the sheet of material on the pool step mold such that the decorative pattern is located a distance inwardly from an outer surface of the pool step and is thereby prevented being contacted by pool water or people using the pool. When the pool step is molded and installed the decorative pattern on the three-dimension pool step is substantially continuous with the decorative pattern on the liner adjacent the pool step.

Abstract: Methods and tooling for constructing a stair unit are provided. The methods incorporate tooling and tables to create templates (two for each tread) that, when laid along a series of hypotenuse marks on the stringer from the table, will dictate the geometry, cutting, and fitting to the treads, without using a framing square. Brackets are used to conjoin the stringer, tread material, and tread framing so that the tread width is not limited by the lack of strength of the tread material. The methods then incorporate the bracket in a tread module to provide further convenience and sequencing options for the assembly of the stair unit. An alternate method combines aspects of the template and the bracket to hold continuous support for the tread, accomplishing a cut stringer look. The result is less time and material expense with better strength, fit and finish.

The brackets are connected to the support element, and each bracket includes a rise indicator corresponding to a desired rise dimension and a run indicator corresponding to a desired run dimension. The alignment elements align the rise or run indicator on one of the brackets with the other of the rise or run indicator on an adjacent one of the brackets to space the brackets at a desired rise and run. The brackets each include a tread flange and a riser flange, such that a tread and a riser can be directly connected to each bracket. The brackets may include cutouts for a temporary tread system.

  • Patent number: 7900403
Abstract: A log staircase is disclosed along with a method of producing components for the log staircase. The log staircase includes an elongated stringer capable of angularly extending from a lower level to an upper level. The stringer has an outer circumference with a notch formed therein. A protuberance extends upward from the notch. The log staircase also includes a tread having a semicircular periphery with a flat surface. An opening is formed in the semicircular periphery of the tread. The opening is designed to mate with the protuberance to retain the flat surface crossways to the stringer. The method includes cutting a number notches and protuberances in each of a pair of stringers, and cutting a pair of openings in a predetermined number of treads which are capable of mating with the protuberances to retain each of the treads crossways to the pair of stringers.

  • Patent number: 7845123
Abstract: To reduce the weight of a staircase block so as to be manually carried and installed, prevent adjacent blocks from being displaced from each other after installation, and prevent the blocks from being raised and separated from each other due to heating and cooling by conquering problems with the staircase blocks related to publicly known technologies. In this precast concrete block for building a staircase, large recesses (2) and (9) are formed in the rise surface (1) and the rear surface (8) of the block to reduce the weight, and displacement prevention grooves (7) for connecting the adjacent blocks to each other with mortar are formed in the side faces of the block, and round parts (partially cylindrical recessed surfaces) (10) with a specified radius are formed at the inner corner parts of the recess (9) in the rear surface so that an acute angle part preventing the adhesive mortar from being filled therein is not produced.
