  • Patent number: 9694830
Abstract: A fastening configuration for connecting a roof-side equipment container to the roof of a rail vehicle includes a fastening rail and a clamping device which engages in the fastening rail in order to clamp a retention section of the equipment container. The fastening rail is constructed as a T-rail which has a web associated with the roof and a support plate at the end of the web which runs perpendicular to the web and which is associated with the retention section of the equipment container. The T-rail has a hole which extends through the support plate into the web, and the clamping device can be inserted in the hole and engages under the support plate.

  • Patent number: 8695307
Abstract: The invention falls within the field of the securing of protective strips covering the ridge or hip regions of a metal roof with standing seams. More specifically, the invention relates to a double tab metal fastener for securing a ridge strap or hip strap on a metal roof covering of the type with a standing seam, comprising:—a first tab (1) forming at one of its ends a hook (2) intended to be secured to the standing seam;—a second tab (3) forming at one of its ends a hook (4) intended to accept an edge of the ridge or hip strap; the two tabs being articulated about an axis (5) allowing their respective rotation in a plane intended to lie substantially parallel to the plane of the roof. This double tab represents a retaining system that can be used for ridging and hipping, which is easy to fit, without any through-fasteners, thus guaranteeing perfect sealing.

  • Patent number: 8167258
Abstract: A clamp for perpendicularly connecting two elongated members includes first and second interchangeable half clamps. The half clamps are placed in opposing relationship and tightened around the perpendicular junction of the two elongated members. In one embodiment, the clamp is designed to connect a beam (such as an I-beam) to a ridge (such as that found on a standing seam roof). In another embodiment the clamp is designed to connect two beams together.

  • Patent number: 8070119
Abstract: A clamp assembly is provided for securing an ancillary device (16) to a standing seam (8), the standing seam comprising a protruding web portion (10) with a head portion (12) at an outer extremity. The clamp assembly includes a substantially rigid member (18; 54) adapted to overlie and contact the head portion of the standing seam. First and second substantially rigid arms (22, 24; 58, 60) extend from the member and are adapted to embrace the head portion in co-operation with the member, at least one of the arms (24; 58, 60) being pivotally interconnected with the member at hinge means (28; 62, 64). The first and second arms have first and second free extremities (36, 38; 70, 72) adapted to face one another and to contact opposite sides of the web portion. Threaded fastener means (40, 41; 86) passes through the ancillary device and into a threaded aperture (46; 88) in the member, from an outer surface of the member.

  • Patent number: 7216466
Abstract: The present invention is a universal ridge clip for attachment of a ridge cap along the peak of a centrally located roof ridge, usually on metal buildings. The clip may also be used on a “hip” roof application. The ridge clip is of a construction such that it provides a strong support area for the ridge cap without the need for fasteners that would penetrate the roof panel at exposed areas to the weather. It generally is a Z-shaped clip having a top fastening area, and a bottom anchoring area with these joined by a generally upright panel having a notch therein to allow roof ribs to pass through the notch.

  • Patent number: 6223477
Abstract: The present invention comprises a block having a first and a second exterior side wall, a base and a top. A groove is located in the base of the block, the groove defining a first and a second interior side wall and a top interior surface. The block is locatable on a metal roof by placement of the groove about a segment of the seam formed by overlapping adjacent roofing panels. A hole is located in the block between the top of the block and the groove, and a locking device is locatable in the hole. Initially locating the locking device into the hole causes the locking device to be positioned between a portion of the seam of the metal roof and a portion of the first interior side wall of the block. Further translocation of the locking device into the hole causes the locking device to engage the portion of the seam of the metal roof and the portion of the first interior side wall of the block, thereby securing the block to the metal roof.
