With Specified Procedure For Adding Fresh Makeup Catalyst Component To Complex (sludge), Support, Or Inert Contact Material Patents (Class 585/707)
  • Patent number: 10450242
Abstract: A process for upgrading an ethane-containing C5? paraffin stream comprises contacting the paraffin stream with an oxygen containing gas in the presence of a selective oxidation catalyst under conditions to selectively oxidize at least part of the ethane in the paraffin stream and produce a first product stream comprising ethylene. At least part of the first product stream may then be contacted with an isoparaffin-containing feed in the presence of a solid alkylation catalyst and under conditions to alkylate at least part of the isoparaffin with at least part of the ethylene and produce a second product stream comprising C6+ alkylate. Alternatively, at least part of the ethylene in the first product stream may be dimerized before the alkylation step.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for regenerating and maintaining the activity of an ionic liquid catalyst, which comprises supplying hydrogen halide or halogenated hydrocarbon to the acidic ionic liquid catalyst or alkylation materials during alkylation reaction, wherein said ionic liquid catalyst is used to catalyze alkylation of C4 alkene and alkane. Disclosed is also a method for producing alkylate by alkylation reaction, which comprises supplying hydrogen halide or halogenated hydrocarbon to the acidic ionic liquid catalyst or reaction materials during said alkylation reaction. The method can prolong the service life of the acidic ionic liquid catalyst, does not influence the quality of the alkylate, and has simple operation. The processed amount of materials may be 1000 times more than the used amount of the ionic liquid.

  • Publication number: 20080033227
Abstract: The present invention provides an improved sulfuric acid catalyzed alkylation process wherein the sulfur content from one or more streams in the alkylation process is recovered by an extraction agent. The extraction agent of the invention comprises ammonia or ammonium hydroxide. Advantageously, the recovered sulfur content is converted to sulfuric acid, such as in a spent acid regeneration (SAR) plant, and recycled to replenish decomposed catalyst in the alkylation process.

  • Patent number: 5593569
Abstract: A process of converting high molecular hydrocarbon feedstock into lower molecular weight components in the presence of a homogenous catalysis system is disclosed. The catalysis system comprises a catalyst complex formed by the interaction of a metal halide-type Lewis acid, a protic Bronsted acid or Bronsted acid donor and a fluid hydrocarbon selected from a C.sub.2 -C.sub.14 alkane dissolved in a fluid hydrocarbon. The homogeneous catalysis system can be produced as a liquid phase or a supercritical fluid solution. The process is especially useful where the hydrocarbon feedstock consists of deasphalted oil or mixed paraffins. The hydrocrackate, especially that derived from paraffin feedstocks, has a carbon number distribution equivalent to that of the fluid hydrocarbon of the catalyst complex.

  • Patent number: 5095167
Abstract: The present invention provides a process and apparatus for alkylating an isoparaffin with an olefin which decreases the required catalyst inventory while improving alkylate quality by internally admixing unreacted isoparaffin and alkylate product with the isoparaffin:olefin reactant stream in the draft tube of a decantation reaction vessel.
