Abstract: A minimally invasive fat cell removal system and method is provided using a numbing component, a laser component, and a NIL component. A cannula and fiber of the laser component are insertable into a body of a patient at a biopsy punch to liquefy a fat cell via a tumescent fluid and/or a laser. A NIL cannula of the NIL component is insertable into the body to remove the fat cell via suction and/or nutation. An anesthetic device of the numbing component may reduce sensation of the body where the cannula is insertable. The fat cell may be harvested and implanted at another location of the body.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a container for anal irrigation. In particular it relates to a rigid container which is easy to operate and which easily is transformed from a storage configuration to a ready-to-use configuration. In one aspect the invention relates to a container for an anal irrigation system. The anal irrigation system comprises an anal probe; a reservoir for holding an irrigation liquid (e.g. water); a pump mechanism for pumping a fluid (e.g. air) into the reservoir; and a liquid tube connecting the reservoir with the anal probe. The container comprises an outer chamber wall, defining at least partly the outer dimensions of the container and an inner chamber wall arranged within the outer chamber wall, said outer chamber wall and inner chamber wall defining the reservoir. This provides a reservoir having a small surface area when filled with irrigation liquid. Thus only a low pressure is necessary to evacuate the irrigation liquid from the reservoir and out through the anal probe.

  • Patent number: 8574223
Abstract: A method of collecting and in situ processing of aspirated fat tissue sampled from a human patient. The method involves providing a surgeon with a powered-assisted hand-held fat tissue aspiration instrument having a cannula, and a fat tissue sampling, processing and collection device installed between the power-assisted fat aspiration instrument and a vacuum source. The fat tissue sampling, collection and processing device includes a suction plate, mounted within a collection chamber, and having multiple hollow projections for supporting the open proximal ends of a plurality of tissue collection and processing tubes, wherein each tissue collection and processing tube has micro-pores formed in the side walls thereof, and its distal end opening is capped. Aspirated fat tissue is collected in a selected tissue collection and processing tube, while allowing fluid to flow and filter through the micro-pores as aspirated fat tissue flows through the cannula of the fat aspiration instrument.

Abstract: Target tissue may be removed from a subject using a cannula that has an interior cavity and an orifice configured to permit material to enter the cavity. This is accomplished by generating a negative pressure in the cavity so that a portion of the tissue is drawn into the orifice. Fluid is then delivered, via a conduit, so that the fluid exits the conduit within the cavity and impinges against the portion of the tissue that was drawn into the orifice. The fluid is delivered at a pressure and temperature that causes the tissue to soften, liquefy, or gellify. The tissue that has been softened, liquefied, or gellified is then suctioned away. The matter that was suctioned away is collected and gravity separated, and fat that is suitable for implantation in the subject is extracted from a selected layer (e.g., the top half) of the supernatant of the gravity-separated matter.

Abstract: A portable device (2) to generate a vacuum for the medical treatment of wounds on the bodies of humans or animals has a vacuum-producing suction pump (90) in a first housing part (4) of the device and a vessel (10) for receiving body liquids. Vacuum is applied for vacuum communication between the suction pump (90), the vessel (10) and a suction tube (82) leading to the body. A pressure sensor (94) measures the pressure in a tube section (88) and a programmable electronic control unit (100) controls the suction pump (90) in dependence on pressure values measured by the pressure sensor (94). The electronic control unit (100) deactivates the suction pump (90) if a rate of change in pressure (?p/?t) detected by the pressure sensor (94) exceeds a defined threshold value toward decreasing vacuum.
