    Abstract: A hydrogen fuel automobile has a heat medium passage through which a heat medium which can exchange heat with a drive portion and can be supplied to a heat medium pipe for a hydrogen tank flows. An air cooling apparatus has a compressor for compressing a refrigerant gas, a condenser, an evaporator and a refrigerant circuit. The hydrogen fuel automobile is provided with a bypass passage which branches from the refrigerant circuit so that expanded refrigerant liquid detours the evaporator so as to be drawn into the compressor. A switch portion can switch between a state where the refrigerant liquid passes through the evaporator so as to be drawn into the compressor and a state where the refrigerant liquid detours the evaporator so as to flow through the bypass passage. The hydrogen storage material cooling portion cools the hydrogen storage material in the hydrogen tank using the refrigerant liquid that flows through the bypass passage.

The heat exchanger includes a core portion for performing a heat exchange, and is disposed to have a first function portion used as the radiator and a second function portion used as the condenser. A function ratio changing ratio includes a displacement member such as a plunger disposed in a header tank of the heat exchanger, and changes a ratio between the first function portion and the second function portion. For example, the displacement member partitions an inner space of the header tank into two space parts when both the vapor-compression refrigerant cycle and the Rankine cycle are operated, and does not partition the inner space when only one of the vapor-compression refrigerant cycle and the Rankine cycle is operated.

    Abstract: A cooling apparatus which has a simple structure and which can efficiently cool a plurality of electric devices is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a cooling circuit including serially-connected cooling systems for cooling electric devices by circulating a refrigerant; a circulating pump for circulating the refrigerant through the cooling circuit; and a radiator which is serially connected to the cooling systems in the cooling circuit and has a refrigerant outlet from which a refrigerant is supplied. The serially-connected cooling systems are arranged in a manner such that heat resisting allowable temperatures, assigned to the electric devices which respectively correspond to the cooling systems, increase from the cooling system closest to the refrigerant outlet to the cooling system farthest from the refrigerant outlet in the cooling circuit, wherein each heat resisting allowable temperature is the maximum temperature at which the relevant electric device can operate.

    Abstract: An apparatus to refrigerate the cargo space of delivery vehicles. It provides an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional mechanical a/c and refrigeration units. Cooling is provided by controlled evaporation of a liquefied gas such as CO2 or nitrogen. Defrost and heating requirements, if needed, are provided by hot engine coolant or by electric heaters powered from the vehicle electrical system. Airflow for the evaporator and for circulation in the temperature controlled space is provided by a blower which is mechanically or electrically driven from vehicle power. This invention can also be applied to multi-temperature control applications. The apparatus is compact and is particularly suited for small inner city delivery vehicles.

    Abstract: A system for providing cooling incorporates a combustion engine (1, 2) equipped with an exhaust heat recovering heat exchanger (3) which is adapted to transfer heat energy to a heat-driven chiller (4) in which cooling can be extracted from one or more heat carrier circuits (8). The cooling thereby provided may be used for cooling of engine charge air or compressor air and/or for providing cooled air for human comfort and/or for goods. Use of heat energy derived from the engine exhaust gas flow can be added to the system. Exhaust or air intake heat exchangers may provide silencing or gas cleaning of air or gas. The system may, e.g., be applied to vehicles. Compact absorption chillers may be used in the system. A method for providing cooling is disclosed.
