  • Patent number: 6701560
Abstract: A nail-pulling tool has a two-piece proximal handle pivotally joined with a two-piece distal jaw by a pivoting means. The distal jaw is operated like a standard hand tool with compression of the handle causing the jaw to close, and vice-versa. The distal jaw has an elliptical surface so that with the distal jaw resting on a work surface and closed about a nail protruding from the work surface, and with the handle laying adjacent the work surface, raising the handle away from the work surface in an arc, causes the nail to be pulled from the work surface at an ever increasing rate. Axially oriented jaw teeth provide improved gripping and a pair of tongue and groove opposing surfaces enable cutting and further improved gripping. A hammer surface enables driving of a nail into the work surface rather than pulling it out, and a claw element enables pulling a nail head up so as to be better gripped by the tool.

Abstract: An improved life-saving hammer structure mainly includes a left and a right housings, a hammer head, a counterweight block, and a blade wherein said left and right housings are counterparts to be engaged for said hammer head and said counterweight block to be encased thereto via a pair of left and right transverse arc coupling heads disposed at the upper section thereof. Said left and right housings also include a middle section with a multiple of equidistant engaging holes disposed thereon, and a staged lower section with a left and a right handles of unequal length extending downwards at the bottom thereof respectively. Said left and right handles thereof are equipped with staged stop flanges for a left and a right cover bodies to be engaged therein respectively. Said blade is fixed to a vertical receiving slot of said left handle at one side, and led through a clearance disposed at the center of said left cover body thereof at the other side.

Abstract: A hand-tool having the general configuration of a hammer, with a head and an elongated handle. The head is mounted at one end of the handle. The head has two oppositely directed faces which are alternately used. One face is similar to that of a conventional hammer that is used to deliver impact blows to drive a stake into the ground. The other face has a central groove that is sized to slip over and engage a stake in such a way that leverage applied to the handle (in a transverse diction) will sate the stake enough as to cause it to be broken away from a Landscape Edging Strip of the type shown in U.S. Pat. No. 6,345,465.

Abstract: An emergency hammer includes a handle having front and rear ends, and first and second side faces extending therebetween. The first side face is formed with a seat-receiving chamber to receive a bit-holding seat that is formed with several bit-receiving grooves to receive several driving bits. First and second retaining seats are fixed on the first side face at two opposite sides of the seat-receiving chamber to detachably mount an operating tool therebetween. The operating tool has a handgrip and a tool element pivotally connected to the handgrip. An extension rod is pivoted to one of the retaining seats, and has a free end connected to a hammerhead. The second side face of the handle is formed with a lid-receiving chamber and a socket-receiving chamber which receives a socket. A cover lid is received in the lid-receiving chamber, and is pivoted to a chamber-confining wall portion of the second side face, and covers the lid-receiving chamber and the socket-receiving chamber.
