  • Patent number: 8161049
Abstract: A system, method, computer program product, and a web site for evaluating a patent document by using an Artificial Intelligence (AI) have been provided. The patent document is characterized by patent indices arranged into a hierarchy, each index reflecting a different aspect of the patent document. The values of the patent indices are analyzed by an Artificial Intelligence (AI) system, which generates a verbal conclusion regarding the value of the patent document based on the performed analysis. A reason associated with the generated conclusion may also be generated. The AI system is a decision tree based AI system, which is implemented so as to be accessible via a network. The value of the patent document may be additionally visualized by using a color coding of the patent document based on values of its patent indices.

  • Patent number: 6400276
Abstract: A monitoring system for use with a self-service terminal (25) having a user interface is described. The system comprises: image capture means (30) for capturing images of at least part of the user interface; image storage means (34) for storing at least one image captured by the image capture means (30); image processing means (32) for comparing the at least one stored image with a subsequently captured image of the part of the user interface so as to detect the addition of an alien device to the part of the user interface; and alarm means (38) for generating an alarm signal if the image processing means (32) detects the addition of an alien device.

  • Patent number: 6028626
Abstract: A surveillance system having at least one primary video camera for translating real images of a zone into electronic video signals at a first level of resolution. The system includes means for sampling movements of an individual or individuals located within the zone from the video signal output from at least one video camera. Video signals of sampled movements of the individual is electronically compared with known characteristics of movements which are indicative of individuals having a criminal intent. The level of criminal intent of the individual or individuals is then determined and an appropriate alarm signal is produced.

  • Patent number: 5819248
Abstract: A persuasion organizer and calculator with which attorneys and others required to form and develop persuasive arguments may create, modify, and control a knowledge base and a persuasive calculus without the need for a knowledge engineer. By eliminating the knowledge engineer from the process of creating and maintaining a knowledge base, the present invention minimizes the problems of ambiguity and confusion found in the prior art. The present invention provides a structure for litigators that allows simple, non-expert creation and modification of decisional frameworks, objective and subjective probabilities, and standards of proof. Furthermore, the present invention allows the user to analyze the elements of a persuasive argument (including matters, issues, facts, laws, evidence, witnesses, and the like) to predict the strength of such an argument and determine elements which may require additional support and resource allocation.
