The method may include receiving, at a resource allocation device, a request to execute a workload; obtaining, by the resource allocation device, telemetry data associated with the workload; identifying, by the resource allocation device, a breakpoint based on the telemetry data; identifying, by the resource allocation device, a workload segment using the breakpoint; generating, by the resource allocation device, a fingerprint representation using the workload segment; performing, by the resource allocation device, a search in a fingerprint catalog using the fingerprint representation to identify a similar fingerprint; obtaining, by the resource allocation device, a resource allocation policy associated with the similar fingerprint; and performing, by the resource allocation device, a resource policy application action based on the resource allocation policy.

Abstract: The disclosure provides for use of steganographically-encoded data as a basis to control content modification. A server could determine through a fingerprint comparison that a portion of media content on a channel being rendered by a content presentation device matches at least one modifiable-content segment, such as at least one replaceable ad. The server could then use watermark data encoded in the media content of the channel as a basis to determine an actual identity of a modifiable-content segment present on the channel, so as to then control content modification.

Abstract: Example methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture are disclosed for network-based monitoring and serving of media to in-vehicle occupants. An example method includes linking panelist data corresponding to media exposure to first telemetry data collected by a vehicle to create linked panelist-telemetry data; and training a neural network to estimate vehicle occupant demographics based on second telemetry data using a first subgroup of the linked panelist-telemetry data.

Abstract: A method for matching audio clips includes: obtaining a first feature sequence corresponding to a first audio clip and a second feature sequence corresponding to a second audio clip; constructing a distance matrix, elements in the distance matrix representing respective distances between first positions in the first feature sequence and second positions in the second feature sequence; calculating a first accumulation distance between a start position and a target position in the distance matrix, and calculating a second accumulation distance between an end position and the target position in the distance matrix; and calculating a minimum distance between the first feature sequence and the second feature sequence based on the first accumulation distance and the second accumulation distance, and determining a degree of matching between the first audio clip and the second audio clip according to the minimum distance.

Abstract: A method includes receiving, during playback of a content item in a content player of a first mobile application presented on a client device of a first user, an indication of a user request pertaining to a second mobile application, the user request corresponding to a first point in the content item played in the content player of the first mobile application. The method additionally includes causing the playback of the content item to continue in the content player presented on a client device while a user interface of the second mobile application is displayed on the client device, wherein the content player persists on top of the user interface of the second mobile application to provide the playback of the content item in a continuous manner from the first point in the content item.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided herein for modifying playlists of media assets. In some aspects, these methods and systems are provided by way of receiving a user input that causes a media asset in a playlist to cease from being played back and to be removed from the playlist. User interactions associated with the playlist may subsequently be monitored, where, in response to detecting a user interaction while monitoring, a number of user interactions that have been received subsequent to the user input may be determined. The number of user interactions may be compared to a threshold number, and, when the number of user interactions corresponds to the threshold number, the media asset may be inserted into the playlist.

According to embodiments of the invention, a first user search query, along with sensor data, is received from a mobile computing device. A recognition process is performed on the sensor data to identify at least one item. In response to determining the at least one item is a result for the first search query, data identifying the at least one item is transmitted to the mobile computing device as a response to the first search query. In response to determining the at least one item is not the result for the first search query, search results of a second search query is transmitted to the mobile computing device as the response to the first search query, the second search query comprising a query of the at least one item.

The method/system includes assigning a unique serial number to each of the copies of the file; and designating a barcode corresponding to the unique serial number. The method/system requires identification of a purchaser of a given copy to be linked with the barcode, so that it can reference the association relations between the serial number and barcode to determine the identity of the purchaser.

The elements may be identified in a playlist or elsewhere. For example, the playlist may specify a composition of a plurality of visual, audio, or other elements for generating output or other behavior in parallel and/or in series over the course of the media presentation. The media player can comprise a playback component configured to utilize at least one selectively-enabled functional component of the media player to generate output based on evaluating the trait(s) exposed by the selected element. Traits may be determined based on analyzing media types or other data regarding the elements of the presentation.

Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically identifying end credits in a media item are disclosed. An analysis component analyzes a media item and identifies a transition point in the media item where end credits begin and a presentation component presents a prompt, such as a survey, based on the transition point. In another aspect, a monitoring component monitors at least one of content or audio of the media item. According to this aspect, the analysis component analyzes the at least one of the content or the audio, identifies a pattern of the media item associated with the end credits, and identifies the transition point as a function of the pattern. In various aspects, the pattern is associated with a streaming of text, a music soundtrack, an absence of speech, an absence object movement, or an absence of an appearance of objects included in the body of the media item.

Abstract: Clustering and synchronizing content may include extracting audio features for each of a plurality of files that include audio content. The plurality of files may be clustered into one or more clusters. Clustering may include clustering based on a histogram that may be generated for each file pair of the plurality of files. Within each of the clusters, the files of the cluster may be time aligned.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer media for providing query-dependent audio and video clip previews are provided. Using the systems and methods described herein, an identification of an audio or video clip relevant to a user search query is received. The user search query has one or more keywords. Occurrences of the keywords and the locations of the occurrences are identified in a transcription of the identified audio or video clip. Clip segments are extracted from the audio or video clip. Each extracted clip segment includes an identified keyword occurrence. A query-dependent clip preview is created that includes at least one extracted clip segment. The query-dependent clip preview can be provided in search results for the user search query to provide an informative preview that is specific to the query to which the clip is relevant.

Abstract: A wireless, mobile device application for a first-responder to create incident reports for events such as an automobile accident or natural disaster, including digital photographs, audio recordings, notes, ordinance numbers, number of individuals affected, type of incident, real time global positioning satellite coordinates (GPS), and any other relevant information that a first-responder deems necessary. Such a report may then be transmitted to a server for access by emergency personnel, E-911 dispatchers, or any others with access to a secure server hosted on the World Wide Web.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for capturing events and activities that occur during a conference, generating metadata related to the events, and correlating the metadata with specific points in time, within the conference, at which the corresponding events occurred. The resulting temporally-correlated event metadata may be stored as part of the conference recording, or separate from the conference recording. Once the temporally-correlated event metadata has been stored for a conference, the conference may be indexed based on the metadata. The index may then be used to not only to locate a conference that satisfies specified search criteria, but to identify the points or snippets, within the conference, that correspond to the search criteria.

Abstract: Various embodiments enable audio data, such as music data, to be captured, by a device, from a background environment and processed to formulate a query that can then be transmitted to a content recognition service. In one or more embodiments, multiple queries are transmitted to the content recognition service. In at least some embodiments, subsequent queries can progressively incorporate previous queries plus additional data that is captured. In one or more embodiments, responsive to receiving the query, the content recognition service can employ a multi-stage matching technique to identify content items responding to the query. This matching technique can be employed as queries are progressively received.

Abstract: Techniques for generating automated tags for a video file are described. The method includes receiving one or more manually generated tags associated with a video file, based at least in part on the one or more manually entered tags, determining a preliminary category for the video file, and based on the preliminary category, generating a targeted transcript of the video file, wherein the targeted transcript includes a plurality of words. The method further includes generating an ontology of the plurality of words based on the targeted transcript, ranking the plurality of words in the ontology based on a plurality of scoring factors, and based on the ranking of the plurality of words, generating one or more automated tags associated with the video file.

Abstract: Media files are drop box-synchronized to limit the amount of new functionality to which a user must grow accustomed in order to synchronize the content of a media player with a remote server within a cloud computing network. Thusly, users are not required to change the way they use their media player(s), but rather are required to use the familiar drag and drop functionality of their native media player. The present invention contemplates automatic versus interval file synchronization between host and nodal processing units via a server within native media player formats. This is achieved through the creation of a media file play list folder that acts as a drop box into which the user drops the desired play list to synchronize with the server. Certain methodology enhances and supports the synchronization process, which methodology incorporates the use of signature waveform metrics.

Abstract: Systems and methods provide for indexing audio content by fusing the indexes derived from a keyword stream and a large vocabulary stream search. For example, systems and methods provide for two stream searching of Spoken Web VoiceSites, wherein metadata is extracted from the VoiceSite and is used to determine a set of keywords for high precision search while a traditional standard vocabulary set is used to perform a high results, low precision search. The results of the keyword search and the standard vocabulary search are fused together to form a comprehensive, ranked list of results.

At least one of the multiple media files matches content in a master media file. The content in the matching media file is of a second quality that is higher than the first quality of the master media file. A server system stores the matching media file in place of the master media file. The server system receives a request from a second user for content matching the master media file, and accesses quality parameters that indicate the second user can access a version of the content at a third quality that is less than the second quality. A media file that contains the requested content at the third quality is generated and sent to the second user.

When the particular song is available, the particular song is returned for playback as the background music to the particular media content. When the particular song is not available, searching is conducted for another song as a substitute song based upon preferences of both an author and the end user of the particular media content.
