  • Patent number: 7661285
Abstract: A drawing machine includes a plate unit, a clamping device, a transmit member, a driving device and a cam. The transmit member includes a following roller. The driving device includes a main linkage inserted through the plate unit and having first and second ends. The cam includes first and second cam paths, with the first cam path disposed between two sides of the second cam path. When the cam is in a first position, the distances between the first cam path and two sides of the second cam path are different. When the cam is in a second position, the distances between the first cam path and two sides of the second cam path are equal. The following roller drives the main linkage to pivot, with the clamping device driven to clamp a rod or pipe. The plate unit is driven by the second cam path and reciprocates along the cam axially.

  • Patent number: 6684675
Abstract: An apparatus for drawing a strand has a frame extending in a longitudinal direction, a pair of substantially identical linear motors each having a primary fixed on the frame, and a movable secondary slidable along the respective primary in the direction. The primaries extend parallel to the direction and are transversely spaced on a plane extending in the direction. A strand clamp capable of gripping the strand is fixed between the secondaries. Electricity is supplied to the primaries to longitudinally displace the secondaries and clamp in the frame so that the clamp and any strand held by it are advanced longitudinally through the frame.

  • Patent number: 6079248
Abstract: According to the invention, a drawing carriage is made to execute a forward stroke and a return stroke alternately, along longitudinal guides on a drawing bench, between two opposite drawing heads, each disposed in one end area of the said bench and each including at least one draw plate, by means of driving horizontally with a reciprocating motion. At least one piece to be drawn is pulled in each forward stroke and in each return stroke by the said drawing carriage, being made to pass through a corresponding draw plate in the drawing head from which the said carriage is made to move away. In this way, the carriage executes working strokes in both directions of horizontal movement along the corresponding guides, causing at least one piece to be drawn in each working stroke.

  • Patent number: 5855136
Abstract: A process and a device for threading elongated tubes into a drawing apparatus for cross-sectional reduction in at least one drawing step by means of at least two successive drawing units that grasp the workpiece at the outer circumference with revolving driving chains which, after the drawing point formed at the start of the tube is threaded in, draw the workpiece continuously through a drawing ring which is arranged in front of each drawing unit. The device includes at least two chain-type drawing machines 1, 2, 3 which are arranged one behind the other with driving chains, 1a to 3a and 1b to 3b, which move apart radially and with a gripper 8 arranged behind every chain-type drawing machine 1, 2, 3 for grasping the drawing point 6 which is formed at the beginning of the tube.

  • Patent number: 5809823
Abstract: A method and apparatus for continuously feeding a generally tubular workpiece into a drawing unit of a continuous drawing machine without disadvantageously reducing the processing speed of the drawing machine. A workpiece having a reduced outer diameter drawing point is fed through a drawing ring by a pair of vertically stacked driving rollers until the drawing point extends beyond the drawing ring. The drawing point is then grabbed by a gripper and drawn through a drawing ring--its movement through the drawing ring still assisted by the driving rollers --to form a reduced diameter starting portion of the workpiece. In so doing, the workpiece is pulled along a drawing axis and in a drawing direction toward a drawing unit that defines a clamping length. Once the reduced diameter starting portion is formed, the gripper is swiveled away from the drawing axis and the drawing ring holder and drawing ring are caused to moved toward the drawing unit still aided by the drive rollers.

  • Patent number: 5060500
Abstract: Apparatus for automatically forming pointed ends for raw metal pipes such as aluminum pipes subject to a drawing process, the pointed end of the pipes being of a reduced diameter convenient for the drawing process. A transporting device moves each raw pipe, which is in alignment with an axis of a pipe inlet of a swaging machine for producing the pointed ends, to a position below the inlet. Each pipe is raised by a lifting device to a height of the pipe inlet so as to be chucked by a gripping device which moves forward to insert a leading end of the pipe into the inlet. The lifting device and the raw pipe are kept out of contact with each other while the leading end is being processed to form the pointed end at the inserted end in the swaging machine whereby efficiency and productivity are improved for the process.

  • Patent number: 4890470
Abstract: A loop transport system for baskets containing looped rod material to be drawn in a drawing machine is provided. Such system includes a conveyor arranged in a substantially closed loop. The conveyor supports and guides a plurality of baskets containing the material to be drawn sequentially to a feeder station, a payoff station, a delivery station and a basket removal station. In these different stations the functions to be performed therein are executed simultaneously or at least partially at the same time. To significantly improve the effectiveness of such a transport system and to reduce the drawing time, due to the inevitable tears in the looped rod material, the invention provides in the area between the payoff station and the delivery station a basket handling branch for the introduction and extraction of baskets containing the looped rod material to be drawn.
