With Stopping Upon Completion Of Prescribed Operation Patents (Class 72/30.1)
  • Patent number: 11777270
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a crimper for use in a tool. The crimper can include a clevis, a nest, and an indenter. The clevis can include a first leg having a first slot and a second leg having a second slot. The first leg and the second leg can extend from a cylindrical body that has a base surface. The indenter can be configured to be moved from a retracted position to an extended position. The indenter can include a body with a work surface and a base on opposing sides of the body. The base of the indenter can be configured to engage the base surface of the cylindrical body when the indenter is in the retracted position.

  • Patent number: 7748308
Abstract: An improved method and apparatus are provided for constructing and operating a linear actuator, and equipment incorporating a linear actuator, by operatively connecting a pressure biasing pneumatic arrangement between the driving member and the driven member of a mechanical linear actuator for applying a unidirectional biasing force between the driving and driven members, along an axis of motion, regardless of the location or movement of the driving and driven elements with respect to one another along the axis of motion. The pneumatic biasing arrangement is also configured, connected and operated to reduce the force which must be exerted by the driving and driven members in extending and retracting the linear actuator. The pneumatic biasing arrangement may further be configured for preferentially aiding extension or retraction of the actuator.

  • Patent number: 7143617
Abstract: A press forming machines includes displacement measuring means for measuring a displacement between a slide plate and a reference plate. Control means measures a positional displacement of each of the driving sources by using the displacement measuring means in each of a plurality of operating steps during the molding operation, detects a desired displacement position of the entire slide plate, extracts control data including a correction amount to maintain the entire slide plate at the desired displacement position, the correction amount corresponding to a change in load on each of the driving sources, stores the control data in the memory, supplies the control data to the driving sources, and separately drives the driving sources. Since an actual molding operation can be performed using control data generated in a trial molding operation, the cycle time of the actual molding can be shortened.

  • Patent number: 7007529
Abstract: A press forming machine having a slide plate which reciprocates by driving sources between a lower support stand and an upper support plate and has a forming space between the lower support stand and the slide plate. In the press forming machine, a reference plate for a displacement reference for the slide plate is supported on the lower support stand. The driving sources are engaged with the slide plate by the drive shafts of the driving sources to drive and press the slide plate. The drive shaft is provided with a through hole axially extending in a shaft center thereof, and displacement measuring devices each for each of the drive shafts measures the displacement of the slide plate portion corresponding to the through hole with respect to the reference plate, through the through hole. As a result, the displacements at the pressurized points on the slide plate can be measured.

  • Patent number: 6802112
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method for making a pressure-tight attachment of an elastomeric tubular piece to an attachment part. For making the pressure-tight attachment, an open end of a tubular piece made of elastomeric material is pushed onto a connecting part and a metal clamping ring is positioned thereon. While radially pressing the jaws of the clamping device together, the diameter of the clamping ring is reduced and the tubular piece is thereby tightly clamped to the connecting part. The clamping operation is ended before damage occurs but only when an adequate strength is ensured. During clamping, the force/displacement curve is observed and a characteristic feature of the measured curve is used as a basis of computation for a switchoff criterion. Preferably, the clamping operation is only ended when the clamping force begins to drop for the first time after the maximum force is exceeded in a defined manner in a predetermined localized or bounded curve segment.

  • Patent number: 6457338
Abstract: The invention relates to a pressing tool (1) with pressing levers (2) which are connected to one another by a connecting link plate (7, 8) such that they can be rotated in a tong-like manner and each of which each provides an upper, free mouth end (14, 16), there being provided a monitoring device (13) which only allows an open position of the pressing levers (2) which is suitable for the release of a blank (42) to be achieved if a full pressing action, with a minimum closing position of the pressing levers (2) being achieved in the process, has been carried out beforehand, a mechanical, electronic or electrical sensor (15) being disposed on one of the pressing levers (2) for the purpose of checking the relative positioning of the pressing levers (2) in relation to one another. In order to achieve an improvement, it is proposed that the sensor (15) be disposed in the upper, free mouth end (14) of the one pressing lever (2).

  • Patent number: 6349582
Abstract: A die system for full enclosed die forging with an enclosed cavity (1a, 2a) is formed between an upper die (1) attached to the side of a slide (6) and a lower die (2) mounted to the side of a bolster (17). A workpiece stock (7) disposed in the cavity is pressurized to be diverted with an upper counter-punch (8) in the upper die and a lower counter-punch (22) in the lower die and is thereby forged within the confines of the cavity. A pressure means (11, 19) is disposed above the upper die (1) and/or below the lower die (2) for applying pressure to at least one of the upper and lower dies (1, 2) from at least one of their upper and lower sides to act to enclose or close the cavity (1a, 2a) unilaterally or bilaterally.
