Abstract: To provide a food material cutter by which any operator can easily, accurately and rapidly slice ring-shaped and disk-shaped food materials such as doughnuts and bagels in half regardless of the degree of skill of the operator. The food material cutter of the present invention comprises a feeding port for feeding a doughnut, titled plates and guiding plates for guiding the fed doughnut, and rotary blades for slicing the guided doughnut in half in the thickness direction. Also, the link mechanism causes the tilt angles of the tilted plates to be increased due to the own weight of the doughnut, and causes the guiding plates to move by an equal distance from the center of the clearance between the respective guiding plates while matching with the thickness of the doughnut. The doughnut, when fed from the feeding port, is guided by the titled plates and guiding plates, and falls down to the palette in a state where it is sliced in half in the thickness direction.

Abstract: An improved net cutting assembly that may be used with an agricultural baler net wrapping system. More particularly, an up-cut net knife for improved cutting of wrapping material (e.g., a net) used to wrap bales of crop material in an agricultural baler. The up-cut net knife assembly improves net cutting performance by providing an up-cut net knife that moves in the same direction as the net whereby the motion of the net helps the knife get into the cut position. Further, embodiments of the up-cut knife assembly move the up-cut knife cutting edge at substantially the same speed and in the same direction as the net to be cut. This motion of the up-cut knife allows the up-cut knife to be lifted up into the net motion using a driver and then to continue on with no relative motion—or at least minimal relative motion of the knife to the net—until the knife gets into the cut position. In the cut position, the knife stops and the net is pulled against the knife blade resulting in cutting the net.

  • Patent number: 8584563
Abstract: An assembly is used upon a powered saw table to accurately cut at a centerline of a workable piece or other material to be cut or, if desired, to accurately cut the cheeks of a tenon to fit a mortise. The trigonometric functions of a right triangle—sine and cosine—are used to assure that as a component of the assembly is moved a certain distance longitudinally, parallel the cutting direction of the saw blade, the guide fence is moved just one-half that distance toward the blade. The longitudinal distance moved is made to equal the width of the piece, thereby indicating a centerline. If the width of the mortise is also considered in addition as part of the longitudinal distance moved, the guide fence is moved toward the saw blade just one-half the distance of the combined widths of the piece and the mortise, to cut the tenon cheeks.

Abstract: A food slicer comprising a base having a slanted chute, a cutting blade housing and a cutting blade extending into the chute. The chute comprises a first panel having a first wall and a second panel having a second wall. Food is placed into a top of the chute and forced to slide to a bottom of the chute by gravity to cut the food with the cutting blade. The first panel and the second panel define a cavity having a uniform cross section. The first panel is adjustably positioned relative to the second panel, whereby the first wall can be moved towards and away from the second wall, thereby altering the size of the cavity in the chute. The food slicer can be placed on a mobile cart and connected thereto to thereby allow easy transportation of the food slicer.

  • Patent number: 6484615
Abstract: A slicing machine including a slicing blade for slicing at least first and second product loaves disposed in a side-by-side arrangement using a single rotation of the slicing blade is set forth. A single rotation of the slicing edge about the center of rotation results in a penetration gradient into each of the first and second product loaves that diminishes in magnitude over the single rotation. To this end, the slicing edge may have a profile defined a plurality of constant radius sections. Each constant radius section has a section center defining the center of the constant radius for that constant radius section. Further, each constant radius section has a section center differing from the section center of an adjacent constant radius section. Such a blade and its associated slicing station provide great control of slices from the loaves as they proceed from the loaf to a receiving conveyor of the slicing station.

Abstract: A rip fence used with a table saw, where the table saw has an upper cutting surface with a front edge surface and a rear edge surface. The rip fence includes a main casing having a front clamping mechanism at the front end and a rear clamping mechanism at the rear end. The front clamping mechanisms has a frame with a handle pivotally connected thereto. A link is connected at one end to the handle and at another end to a cam. An activation plate is also connected the cam and to a clamping plate. The handle rotates between a locked position and a released position thereby moving the link to rotate the cam against the activation plate. The activation plate causes the clamping plate to laterally move between a locked position and a released position relative the front edge surface. The handle also causes the rear clamping mechanism to move between a locked and a released position relative the rear edge surface.

  • Patent number: 6234056
Abstract: A saw having a fence assembly (FIG. 4) which is adjustable in position to set cutting thickness with a means of securing said fence assembly to a base (10). The fence assembly consists of a lower fence (20), an upper fence (30), an upper outer fence (38), and a lower outer fence (44) that, together with the base, brackets, and fasteners, restrains a work piece except for motion in-line with the cutting direction. A reciprocating blade (60) that passes through a hole in base (10) is held in a blade support assembly (FIG. 5) that provides a means to tension the blade and holding the blade at proper alignment. Bearings and supports hold the blade assembly in-place relative to the base except for reciprocating motion. A source of reciprocating motion is connected to the blade support assembly. An adjustable brace (84) is set a height just above the work piece, thereby restraining the cut pieces from upward motion.

  • Patent number: 5865085
Abstract: An improved apparatus for removing surrounding insulation from an insulated electrical conductor has a pair of matched frustoconical cutter wheels mounted on a cutter shaft. The cutter wheels incorporate a cutter edge and a beveled outer slope. The cutter wheels are spaced apart by an interchangeable cutter spacer. When properly set up the cutter spacer is of a size so that the cutter wheels flank the conductor of the wire being stripped, cutting only the insulation portion of the wire. The cutter edges pierce and cut the insulation while the slope of the cutter wheels urge the insulation away from the conductor. A pinch roller assembly stabilizes the wire as it passes by the cutter wheels. A diverter is mounted in close proximity to the cutter spacer in a tangential fashion to divert and clear away any insulation that clings to the cutter spacer during operation.
