Abstract: A turf cutter device, an infill extractor/collector device, and a turf wind-up device are used to facilitate the cost-effective removal of an infilled synthetic turf and the subsequent installation of a new turf at the same site, with minimal subsurface disruption. An infill extractor/collector device mounted on a motorized vehicle moves a relatively narrow strip of filled artificial turf from the surface, in front of the vehicle, and directs the strip to an infill removal station. The infill removal station inverts the strip and redirects the strip back toward the front of the vehicle, after agitating the strip to extract the infill. After redirecting the strip toward the front of the vehicle, the vehicle drives over the unfilled strip. Meanwhile, the extractor/collector device moves the extracted infill rearwardly to a bag located in a trailer.

Abstract: A machine tool has a work table which defines a working surface and has a cutting tool which is attached to and movable with respect to the work table. The position of the cutting tool with respect to the working surface is controlled by a mechanism which elevates the cutting tool with respect to the working surface and angulates the cutting tool with respect to the working surface. The cutting tool is mounted to a support plate which is pivotably attached to the work table. The elevating mechanism includes a threaded rod and a nut which engages a pivoting link. The pivoting link also engages the cutting tool. Rotation of the threaded rod pivots the link which in turn raises and lowers the cutting tool. A spring biases the cutting tool towards its lower position to remove play between the components. The angulating mechanism includes a lever, two cams and a locking rod. Rotation of the lever moves the locking rod longitudinally due to the action between the two cams.

Abstract: A transportable circular table saw having an exterior housing (1) with a tabletop (4) forming a workpiece support surface (3) that is irreversibly arranged in the exterior housing (1), and a saw unit (7) arranged underneath the tabletop (4) with a drive motor and a circular saw blade (10) protruding into the tabletop (4) from below through a saw slot (9), with the exterior housing (1) in plan view being approximately square in shape. The sawing unit (7) is slidable relative to the tabletop (4) in a pulling direction, as a result of which the circular saw blade (10) moves in the saw slot (9) in the pulling direction, and in relation to an axis of a mitre cut in the pulling direction, preferably being able to be inclined to at least one side. The tabletop (4) forms the workpiece support surface (3) and the saw slot (9), is rotatably held in the exterior housing (1) on an axis perpendicular to the workpiece support surface (3), in particular in a surrounding top (14) of the exterior housing (1).

  • Patent number: 5479971
Abstract: A dual action tree cutting apparatus includes a single generally planar blade mounted on a shaft at the forward end of a support frame, with the blade projecting forwardly therefrom. The blade has a cutting edge extending around the entire perimeter, and has two mirror image halves divided by a centerline passing through the shaft. Each blade half cutting edge increases in the distance between the cutting edge and the shaft along the perimeter from a rearward end of the centerline to a forward end of the centerline. A set of cutting teeth are formed on one blade half and oriented to cut a tree when the blade is rotated clockwise, while a second set of cutting teeth are oriented on the second blade half perimeter to cut a tree when the blade is rotated counterclockwise. A sprocket on the shaft is engaged by a pair of drive chains connected to operable cylinders, the cylinders operable to retract and pull one drive train to rotate the blade in each direction.
