  • Patent number: 6833931
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and apparatus for exposing photosensitive material to form high quality continuous tone and/or color images thereon. The preferred apparatus includes an imaging head comprised of square pixel image generators, e.g., fiber optic tubes mounted to form a rectangular array. The pixel image generators are inclined at an angle of 45 degrees to the scan direction. As the print head scans, each fiber optic tube can expose a pixel image onto the photosensitive material. The exposure levels of the pixel images are preferably specified in a digital file representing an image to be printed. As a result of being inclined at 45 degrees, the pixel images exposed onto the photosensitive material are diamond shaped. Each pixel image overlaps its neighbor by substantially 50% of the center to center distance between pixel images.

  • Patent number: 6830054
Abstract: A method for fabricating a hairpiece includes attaching a plurality of hair wefts to an elastic band. The hair wefts are individually stitched to the elastic band leaving small gaps between adjacent hair wefts. In this fashion the elastic band can still expand after the hair wefts are attached. In a preferred embodiment, some of the hair wefts are double thickness to provide enhanced hair body.

  • Patent number: 6817623
Abstract: A case system and method includes a first case and a second case. The first case has wheels and an extendable handle having two handle shafts. The second case has two parallel grooves which receive the two handle shafts. The second case also has two latches which lock the two handle shafts in place within the two parallel grooves, so that the two case are secured together and may be wheeled about as a single unit. In a second embodiment of the invention, the first case has a top half and a bottom half, the top half being removable from the bottom half. When the bottom half is stacked on top of the top half, two cavities in the top half receive the two wheels of the bottom half so that the bottom half resides in a level orientation.

  • Patent number: 6806772
Abstract: A method and apparatus for use with a transistor array for enhancing the array's performance and/or reliability and/or longevity by sensing the temperature of each transistor in the array and initiating corrective action to maintain its temperature within a desired operating range. Each array transistor has a temperature sensor closely thermally coupled thereto preferably mounted within the transistor package, in close physical proximity to the transistor junction.

  • Patent number: 6796572
Abstract: A method and device for steering a heavy load transport vehicle includes a variable length strut which cooperates with a power steering valve. The length of the variable length strut changes as a function of tow bar rotation. This length variation is mechanically coupled to the power steering valve, which in turn controls an automatic steering system. The present invention permits mechanical steering of the transport vehicle even in the event of failure of the automatic steering system, and does so without placing mechanical stress upon the power steering valve.

  • Patent number: 6793099
Abstract: A supply system for providing water from a bottled water cooler includes a pump which pumps water from an upright bottle of water. A pressure sensor turns the pump off when the bottle of water is empty. A prime pump control starts the pump to initiate the flow of water from a new bottle of water.

  • Patent number: 6732548
Abstract: An ornamental glass object and method of fabrication (20) includes three separate glass elements which are combined in three separate heating operations. A foundation of base glass (22) is formed and partially melted at a high temperature smoothing the edges. Stringer glass (26) and chip glass (28) are combined to form a pattern (30) which is melted at a second intermediate temperature to fuse all elements of the pattern (30) together. Fused pattern (30) is then combined with melted base glass (22) and the combination heated at a third low temperature to bond pattern (30) to base glass (22).

  • Patent number: 6712720
Abstract: A method of practicing a golf shots includes using a practice golf club which has a backward bent shaft. By having the shaft bent backward, the player's hands are located in front of the ball both at address and impact. This ensures that the club face will provide the proper ball lift.

  • Patent number: 6705320
Abstract: Methods for performing tracheal intubation of small animals are shown utilizing an endotracheal tube specifically designed for them. The endotracheal tube has a zigzag bend and a distal portion having an outwardly facing surface. The outwardly facing surface is used to depress the epiglottis of the animal thereby giving a doctor a clear view of the animal's trachea. The endotracheal tube also includes a tapered end which is easily inserted between the arytenoid cartilages of the larynx, and a pressure sensor which provides a quantitative indication of the air pressure within the cuff of the endotracheal tube.

  • Patent number: 6705235
Abstract: A platform is selectively attachable to the wall of an open container. The platform includes a hanger which is placed over and engages the top rim of the container wall. A bracket is pivotal between a flat storage position and a locked position perpendicular to the planar body of the platform. When the bracket is placed in the locked perpendicular position, the hanger may be placed over the top rim of the upstanding wall so that the bracket abuts the outside surface of the upstanding wall and the platform is therefore maintained in a substantially horizontal orientation.

  • Patent number: RE38479
Abstract: A method and apparatus responsive to a positive pressure water source (10) for cleaning the interior surface of a pool containment wall (3) and the upper surface (7) of a water pool (1) contained therein. The apparatus includes an essentially unitary cleaner body (6) and a level control subsystem (124, 138) for selectively moving the body (6) to a position either proximate to the surface (7) of the water pool for water surface cleaning or proximate to the interior surface (8) of the containment wall for wall surface cleaning. The cleaner body can have a weight/buoyancy characteristic to cause it to normally rest either (1) proximate to the pool bottom adjacent to the wall surface (i.e., heavier-than-water) or (2) proximate to the water surface (i.e. lighter-than-water).
