Abstract: Described herein is a locking device and method which integrates mechanical components in a hollow metal door frame with electronic access components. The electronic components override the original mechanical components of the lock to create a fail-safe situation in which the original mechanical lock may be disabled. In the preferred embodiment, my upgraded locking device can be re-installed within a hollow door frame, thereby minimizing service costs and doorframe modification costs. The electronically controlled component can be a cam retaining locking bar which contains a roll pin and an open area bordered by two cut sides. The open space eases lock installation with a door by avoiding protruding door structures such as metal tabs.

Abstract: A shoring device is disclosed comprising a piston and a cylinder. The piston is axially expanded by compressed gas, whereby the shoring device engages two opposing surfaces. Removable swivel sideplates comprise détente sphere attachments by which the sideplates reversibly attach to the piston and cylinder. These attached removable swivel sideplates contain set screws which engage the sides of trenches and excavations which are lined with timbers or other materials.

Abstract: An improved emergency vehicle support kit comprises a cylinder and two pistons attached to form a telescoping device. When assembled, the telescoping device attaches to an improved vehicle support base plate by a swivel support base plate adapter. The support base plate also attaches to swivel support base plate adapter, and this adapter rotates approximately 340 degrees along the upper vehicle support base plate surface. With this swivel support base plate adapter, the operator can manually orient the telescoping device either vertically or at an angle. Knurled connecting collars comprise circular interior lips which prevent each first and second piston from inadvertently falling from the cylinder or the wider piston, as the case may be.

Abstract: A shoring device is disclosed comprising a piston and a cylinder. The piston is axially expanded by compressed gas, whereby the shoring device engages two opposing surfaces. An outer cam collar and a concentrically enclosed inner ring are mounted upon the cylinder end into which the piston inserts. This outer cam collar comprises at least two cam edges, two stop faces and a threaded cam pin within an integral boss. The inner ring comprises a continuous circular indentation as well as a continuous circular inner lip. The outer cam collar and inner ring, together with the continuous circular inner lip and threaded pin, firmly retain the piston. These piston retention features prevent inadvertent rotation and collapse of the piston during use.

Abstract: A shoring device comprises a piston and a cylinder. The piston is axially expanded by compressed gas, whereby the shoring device engages two opposing surfaces. An outer ratcheting collar and a concentrically enclosed inner ratcheting ring are mounted upon the cylinder end receiving the piston. This outer ratcheting collar mechanically and frictionally engages at least one of a plurality of serrations of the enclosed inner-ratcheting ring. The outer ratcheting collar and inner ratcheting ring firmly hold the piston, thus preventing inadvertent rotation and collapse of the piston during the shoring device application. There is also an internal circular air channel feature, which more quickly and evenly distributes compresses gas or air to the piston for lateral expansion thereof.

Abstract: A functional reclining multipurpose exercise apparatus. When completely assembled in a small space, the apparatus is useful for numerous muscle strengthening exercises. The functional reclining multipurpose exercise apparatus comprises removable leg attachments as well as adjustors and pin attachments. There are also exercise stretch bands which encircle specific components of the apparatus for resistance, depending upon the particular exercise.

Abstract: My invention comprises a mechanical universal bag holding device. More particularly, my bag holding device is designed to support a bag which can be expanded and lengthened while filling. My device basically comprises in its most basic embodiment: a cylindrical transverse hollow piping and angled arms which are connected to the hollow pipe and operate as supports for a bag or container. In other embodiments my bag holder can be attached to a dolly in construction work, or manufactured as a smaller version for kitchen use.

Abstract: The exercise apparatus the AB Challenger Apparatus, is an exercise device which is comprised of light cylindrical straight and curved components, which are easily assembled by the use of cylindrical joints. The apparatus described herein is particularly recommended for strengthening all abdominal muscles, serratus anterior, chest muscles, anterior deltoids, flexor groups of the hand and leg muscles.

Abstract: My improved hand-held razor ensures smoother hair removal on any human body part and even on furry domestic animals. The angled or precut blade or blades in the razor head result in angled orientations instead of straight across the longitudinal length of the razor head. The angle of the blade(s) provides a slicing motion which is less likely to tear hair roots and make infection of pores more probable.

Abstract: A modified game of chess compirsing four individual armies is disclosed herein. There can be two, three or four participants. A gameboard is modified to comprise seventy-two alternating smaller squares of equal dimensions for a total of 144 squares, but of two distinct alternating colors. The gameboard has a border with linear groups of designation marks for initial pawn movements. The methodology is novel in that two, three, or four participants, each initially with his or her own modified army of chess pieces, can form or dissolve alliances with other armies. Armies may also, by checkmate, control one or more defeated armies. The result is a modified game for experienced players.
