Abstract: Apparatus for removing burrs from flame cut steel slabs including multiple deburring pistons extendably mounted in a piston body. Pressurization of the piston body causes extension of the pistons, while rotation of the piston body positions the deburring pistons at an inclined angle with respect to the work piece.
Abstract: A resuscitation/ventilation apparatus incorporates an entrainment mixer with a nozzle, discharging entraining gas into an entrainment chamber, the nozzle being connected with a high pressure source of the entraining gas. One entrainment port to the entrainment chamber is connected to atmosphere and another entrainment port is connected to an oxygen source. A continuously variable restriction is disposed in the oxygen supply conduit upstream of the other entrainment port and is variable independently of any control of the entraining gas supply, to enable delivery of a gas mixture of steplessly variable oxygen concentration.
Abstract: Apparatus for removing burrs from flame cut steel slabs having a rotating shaft and burr knocking members loosely mounted on the shaft for impact removal of the burrs.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for the production of colored glass includes the steps of diverting a stream of clear molten glass from at least one glass melting furnace through one or more transport channels to a color treatment chamber. Recycled cullet and color additive are added to a charging end of the treatment chamber. The treatment chamber is heated to melt the cullet and further heat the remaining feedstock to form a molten bath of colored glass which is thermally and chemically homogenized in the treatment chamber. Refractory rotary paddle wheels positioned in the transport channels regulate the flow rate and level of the molten glass and provide for selective shut off of individual glass streams.
Abstract: An apparatus and method for filtering molten metal are disclosed. The apparatus utilizes a continuous filtering medium that is serially indexed into the metal filtering area. The apparatus may be used to filter ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and provides significant cost and time savings. In one embodiment the apparatus allows automatic indexing of a new filter for each shot or pour on high production casting machines. In another embodiment the apparatus is adapted to filter large amounts of metal up to 5,000 pounds or more.
Abstract: A road vehicle halting device comprising a support member, a plurality of support elements, means mounting the support elements on the support member, each supporting element supporting a generally upwardly extending spike, a plurality of downwardly extending road engaging formations, means mounting the road engaging formations on the underside of the support member, the road engaging formations each being configured so that in the event of a vehicle driving over the device, at least one of the formations digs into the ground.
