Abstract: A generally rectangular structural block has a central ridge which extends along the top of the block and stops short of its end faces. In the bottom face are two grooves, one aligned with the ridge, the other at a right angle and intersecting in the middle of the bottom face. The groove aligned with the ridge extends from end-to-end of the block, the intersecting groove stops short of one side face of the block. The grooves are dimensioned so as to mate with a ridge dimensioned like that on the top face. Two or more such blocks can be made as a permanently joined unit, their ridges in line with each other, and the side faces at which the intersecting grooves stop short located on the same side of the unit. Single-block and multi-block units are laid up to form walls with the ridges in a given course interlocking with the grooves in the next higher course of blocks.
Abstract: The centrifuge (1) described has at least one device (11,12) designed to control the operation of the centrifuge, the devices being mounted to rotate with the rotating part of the centrifuge and to be operated by a mechanical actuator (13) also rotating with it. Such devices may, for instance, be drain valves, periodically opening discharge valves, sill height adjustment devices, pressure-control devices, temperature-control devices, etc. At least one part of the devices of this centrifuge to be controlled independently of the centrifugal force is designed so that the rotating actuator (13) changes its shape as a function of the temperature and has at least one temperature-specific shape.
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for removing solid components from a fluid in a trough (1) having a transport device (3) in the form of a transport trough (4) and a rotationally driven transport helix (6), the transport device (3) having at one end a solids outlet (9) and at the opposite end a sieving surface (15) at least in portions of the surface, in which the solid components are able to be sieved out of the fluid and are able to be transported to the solids outlet (9) via the transport helix (6) in the axial direction of the transport device (3).
Abstract: A rotary slide valve (10) controls compressed air, nitrogen and oxygen streams independently from each other. The rotary slide valve (10) consists of a housing (15) with pairs of diametrically opposed radial bores and a valve body (11) with recesses (35, 37). The valve body (11) is coupled to a rotary drive R. According to its position, the valve body (11) opens and closes compressed air inlets, compressed air outlets or nitrogen outlets and controls the streams of compressed air and nitrogen. In addition, the rotary slide valve controls several streams of oxygen through several axial oxygen inlets (49, 51) and outlets (53, 55) which may be interconnected through an axial recess of the valve body (11). The rotary slide valve (10) is used in particular in air oxygen-enriching installations.
Abstract: In a device for grinding workpieces, in particular workpieces made of ceramic materials, by means of a grinding wheel (24) or the like, the workpiece (23) is oscillated transversely to the machining direction during grinding. At least one ultrasonic transducer (1), whose ultrasonic energy is used as exciting energy for the workpiece (23), is provided as a device (20) for generating the oscillating movement of the workpiece (23). An ultrasonic resonance space (2,4) for amplitude transformation is provided between the ultrasonic transducer (1) and a sonotrode (5) which transmits the vibration to the workpiece (23).
Abstract: A device is disclosed for providing drivers of road vehicles with additional audible indication that the turn signal system has been selected "on" and is still operating. The "flasher" device in road vehicles is supplemented with an electronic tone-producing device connected at its accessible power terminals such that the electronic tone is audible to the driver, emitting a series of short duration tones, preceded and preferably separated by significant time delays, occurring from the initiation until the cancellation of the turn signal.
Abstract: Sacrificial coatings are applied to the rounded ends of the flattened spiral laminates for wound film capacitors. The coated laminates are positioned between tapes masking their flat surfaces. The end faces of those laminates are then sprayed with the schoopage metal and the laminates are subsequently tumbled to remove the coatings and any overspray appearing on their rounded surfaces.
