Abstract: In order to overcome limitations of network connections between a primary host server and a remote secondary host server, the audit file of a primary database is mirrored to an audit file of the remote secondary backup database. A special sensing program called TRACKER operates to speed up the synchronization (duplication) between the primary database and secondary remote database.

Abstract: A system wherein a Caller Application is enabled to reduce latency after a First Call to a Data Link Library after which a stub function provides direct access to a selected algorithm's work function for execution by a processor. A Hardware Abstraction Layer receives information from multiple CPU's to determine the appropriately compatible algorithm for the processor that is to be utilized.
Abstract: A method is disclosed for adapting a legacy software application developed for an environment comprising a centralized computing resource interconnected to a series of computer terminal devices applications to a network environment wherein the network environment can comprise a system of distributed, interconnected network computing resources, the method comprising the steps of: creating translatable source code and executable code for the initial legacy software application and; utilizing the translatable source code to produce a series of software components, the components being executable by at least one of the computing resources in the network environment, and upon execution, the computing resource is caused to interconnect with the executable code of the legacy software application over the network so as to interact with the legacy software application in the transmission or receipt of information to and from the legacy software application.

Abstract: The present invention is a method for facilitating the use of deferred column retrieval in order to improve row retrieval and query performance of OLE DB objects. The method enables OLE DB applications to access columns present in index structures without accessing the base table, enables optimization and faster running queries, as well as detecting various data access patterns, which could facilitate usage of the index for data retrieval.
Abstract: A method and system is provided that enables OLE DB (Object Linking and Embedded Database) applications to access embedded table-structured relationships in hierarchical databases as Normalized relational tables.
Abstract: A telemetry warehouse provides a consolidated system log in the form of a data warehouse which contains data collected from traditional sources such as system management tools, performance monitoring tools, and various system logs while allowing analysis across the entire range of management data.

Abstract: The invention provides a system and method for reducing the amount of downtime during a database reorganization. The invention provides a method whereby data values are unloaded from a table in a database, stored in a substantially original format in another location within the database whilst the database is modified, and reloaded into the modified table.

Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention is a method for monitoring various data sources for events indicative of a current or potential system health problem, thereby detecting positive or negative trends in system health data. At the core of this module is an algorithm that analyzes a series of data points that have been collected into sample sets over time.
Abstract: The present invention is a method for providing the consumption of a set amount of memory within a set amount of time in a server network in order to properly display the capabilities of running multiple applications proprietary suite of tools with the intention of being able to predictably trigger recovery events, and to discover when an application is “over-consuming” memory.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for improving transaction processing performance in a transaction processing system, particularly but not exclusively, in a transaction processing computing system comprising a plurality of processors.

Abstract: A method is provided to verify a database copy of a primary database which has been replicated. A secondary physically consistent copy of the primary database is put in a state of quiesce while the primary database is allowed to resume update activity. The consistent copy, in a state of quiesce, can be used for database maintenance activities or as a recovery source should the primary database be damaged, but the consistent copy is first checked for integrity by using a Verify option before such recovery source is utilized.

Abstract: The method of the present invention is useful in detecting the lack of majority cluster nodes within a cluster, and reorganizes the cluster membership to allow for running with less than a majority of nodes connected. As nodes become alive, they are added to the cluster until the original majority is reached, which then allows for the cluster to return to normal operation. Thus, the method of the present invention allows for the revival and reconstitution of a majority node set of clusters.

Abstract: In a network of primary and secondary servers having individual databases which are mirrored to each other, there is provided a method to increase resource availability by removal, of already-utilized audit files onto external storage. A TRACKER program for expediting the update of the secondary database will initiate a CopyAudit program which offloads the audit files on the secondary server and then signals the primary server to offload the audit file, of the primary, onto external storage.
Abstract: A method for enabling database access to an OLE DB compatible database by a client using a JAVA JDBC Application Program Interface. A JDBC Driver program provides a bridging functionality between the using JDBC client and the OLE DB database.
