Abstract: A portable lamp, such as a flashlight or small reading lamp, has a smooth rotatable light bulb portion that rotates evenly from a closed to an open position. The lamp includes a barrel-shaped illuminator within a main housing. The lamp housing is rotatable between a closed lamp-off position and a full-open lamp-on position in a smooth, slow motion movement from the closed to the open, lamp illuminating position. A torsion coil spring urges the lamp housing to rotate into the full-open position. The torsion coil is mounted in a hollow interior of a drum mounted rotatably within a diameter-matching cylinder, which has an inner surface. The drum has a corresponding outer surface in close proximity to the inner surface of the cylinder. The outer surface of the drum has a damper, such as a coating of friction-producing grease, which provides a fluid shear counter force to slow the rotational motion of the lamp housing.
Abstract: A travel alarm clock which pivots to an open viewable position by preloaded pivot joints and which sets itself up automatically with a slow motion action upon pressing of a button.
Abstract: This invention relates to a new and improved anesthesia delivery system utilized in medical procedures wherein there is minimized build up of carbon dioxide levels in a patient due to a patient re-breathing their own exhaled gases. The anesthesia delivery system comprises a first tubular element hermetically coupled to a source of gas which is inhaled by a patient, and a second tubular element hermetically coupled to a system for expelling gas exhaled from a patient's lungs such that when a patient is intubated with the delivery system, the end of the first tubular element is positioned adjacent the patient's pharynx while the end of the second tubular element is positioned within the patient's trachea.
Abstract: This invention relates to a new and improved design associated with the fabrication and construction of a needleless transfer system wherein through the use of a unique valve mechanism there is avoided the necessity to utilize a needle in conjunction with a syringe for purposes of transferring and/or injecting a liquid medium from one environment into another environment. By having the valve mechanism comprise a hollow enclosure which has contained therein a compressible structure which acts both as a filter and as a mechanism to allow for the selective flow of a liquid medium through the system in a singular direction, the capabilities of the needleless transfer system are achieved.
