Abstract: For generating a pulse train having a variable frequency, in a first step a referance frequency is divided by the combined factor D.sub.r =N.multidot.p, wherein N and p are integers. Thus, an auxiliary pulse train is obtained. In a next step, there are included (N-1) intermediate pulses having at least approximately the same distance from each other between adjacent pulses of the auxiliary pulse train. Thereby, in total a division of the reference frequency by the factor p is obtained. This method results in an improvement of the frequency resolution by the factor N.sup.2 with respect to a method where the reference frequency is directly divided by the factor p. A circuit arrangement for carrying out this method contains a frequency divider, which issues small output pulses having the period D.sub.r T.sub.o, and (N-1) triggerable pulse emitters or generators, each of which delivering one of the aforementioned intermediate pulses.
Abstract: A pulse code multiplex exchange system includes a buffer arrangement for compensating both short and long term phase drift of information between plesiochronous data paths each being controlled for block information transfer by a separate clock. An alignment buffer is arranged between the two data paths. It has two sections, each having a capacity for storing alternately one of two subsequent information blocks, and on chip address decoders for selecting write and read addresses. Separate address generators are associated with the buffer for generating consecutive write addresses under control of a first clock and read addresses under control of a second clock, respectively. A guard distance detector continuously monitors the distance between the present write address and the respective read address, and initiates a slip operation for switching subsequent read operations from one section of the alignment buffer to the other section, if the address distance falls short of a minimal guard distance.
Abstract: A three-pole cable connecting unit for a compressed gas-insulated high-voltage switching installation is disclosed having three cable connecting elements, a three-pole isolating switch and (optionally) a three-pole ground mechanism, as well as two three-phase conductor branches, all lying encapsulated within a housing. To make the housing as small as possible, the three cable connecting elements are introduced into the receptacle at the end wall in a generally parallel fashion to connect with the fixed contacts of the isolating switch. The isolating switch is generally arranged in a plane which lies at right angles to the diametrical longitudinal plane of the housing. The isolating gaps of the switch are inclined toward each other. From the contacts of the isolating switch, connecting conductors fan out toward a conductor branch at the housing side in such a way that they lie at the tips of an equilateral triangle.
Abstract: A special character sequence detection circuit arrangement for use with a central exchange of a time multiplex digital telecommunications system connecting data terminals evaluates an established set of data characters. This set includes special characters which, when sent out by the same data terminal repetitively and a predetermined number of times, are recognized and evaluated for triggering a corresponding control process. The circuit arrangement is provided with a random access memory having memory locations each associated with a respective one of the data terminals for storing a previous character code and a previous count number. A first read-only memory receives the currently transmitted data character and assigns an individual character code to each special character. A second read-only memory programmed to derive a validated character code and an incremented count number from a combination of this individual character code, the previous character code and the previous count number.
Abstract: In a metal-clad, compressed gas-insulated high-voltage switching installation, installation parts can be cut off by a circuitbreaker and connected to the grounded casing by means of a grounding switch, insulated measuring electrodes connectable to the testing terminal of a capacitive voltage divider and to a display device being provided in the casing adjacent to the grounding switch, for observation of the conductor voltage. To obtain a simple test setup in a three-phase clad installation, two pin-type measuring electrodes are arranged respectively centrally between pairs of the three conductors in such a way that their rounded end protrudes into the interior of the casing.

Abstract: The pivotal switching arm of a "swivel post" type load break switch carries, in addition to a blade contact, a U-shaped sliding block type conducting driver which has an elongated elastically expandable slot that engages the ratchet head of the rectilinearly movable switch pin of a current quenching device mounted on the fixed contact post. To control the spring constant of the slot, an enlarged opening is provided at one end of the slot which reduces the cross-section of the driver. At the other end of the slot, an enlargement serves to release the ratchet head when the switch opens. The driver enables rectilinear quenching devices to be used in conjunction with the curvilinear motion of the switching arm.

Abstract: In order to prevent sparking or corona effects in the high voltage carrying parts of the outdoor high voltage circuit breaker, shielding electrodes are provided. The shielding electrodes are angular frames. The frames are formed of hollow cylindrical straight rods and of substantially spherical corner pieces which connect the rods with each other. With this design, there are minimum costs of the component parts for shielding electrodes of varying size and shape.
