  • Patent number: 6378000
Abstract: A method for address mapping in a home entertainment network system includes receiving a self identification packet; extracting a bus identifier and a physical identifier from the self identification packet; adding a new row to an address mapping table, the new row comprising a bus identifier field, a physical identifier field, and a node unique identifier field; inserting the physical identifier and bus identifier into the respective bus identifier and physical identifier field in the new row of the address mapping table; transmitting a read request packet to a node identified by the self identification packet; receiving a read response packet, the read response packet comprising a node unique identifier; extracting one or more identifiers from the read response packet, the one or more identifiers including a node unique identifier; and inserting the one or more identifiers into additional fields in the new row of the address mapping table.

  • Patent number: 6353834
Abstract: A message queuing system is provided that saves and stores messages and their state in an efficient single file on a single disk to enable rapid recovery from server failures. The single disk, single file storage system into which messages and their states are stored eliminates writes to three different disks, the data disk, the index structure disk and the log disk. The single disk, single file storage is made possible by clustering all information together in a contiguous space on the same disk. The result is that all writes are contained in one sweeping motion of the write head in which the write head moves only in one direction and only once to find the area where it needs to start writing messages and their states are stored.

  • Patent number: 6345110
Abstract: To identify an image characteristic, a tree structured code having coding representing each of a plurality of training images is stored in a memory. Coding representing a sample image, not included in the plurality of training images, is compared to the tree structured code to identify the training image coding in the structured tree code closest to the sample image coding. A characteristic of the sample image is identified based upon the training image represented by the closest training image coding.
