  • Patent number: 4441886
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for removing organic sulphur from coal and the material resulting from the treatment of organic sulphur containing coal with the instant process. The subject process includes the step of mixing coal with ethyl alcohol having less than 4% water. The temperature and pressure of the coal and ethyl alcohol mixture is raised to above the critical temperature and pressure of ethyl alcohol. The coal ethyl alcohol mixture is held at moderate temperature and elevated pressure for a period of about 30 minutes or more. The liquid and solids are separated. The resulting coal solids have substantially less organic sulphur contained therein.

  • Patent number: 4364602
Abstract: A seat support structure for a vehicle including a seat assembly mounted for selected pivotal movement about a pair of spaced lateral axes. Selective pivotal movement about the two axes is controlled by associated latch mechanisms to retain the seat assembly in a fixed position and to permit the release of the seat assembly for swinging movement independently about the two axes. The provision of such a capability for pivotal movement about a pair of axes allows orientation of the seat assembly at a remote position permitting access to components of the vehicle mounted beneath the floor or frame supporting the operator's seat.

  • Patent number: 4114882
Abstract: A variable velocity control for playing images for video games is disclosed herein. The variable velocity control for playing images for video games includes a play condition sensor. A horizontal playing image velocity control is connected to the play condition sensor. The play condition sensor receives signals from other portions of the manually controlled electronic video display game indicative of the number of times a ball image has intersected a paddle image. The play condition sensor then supplies a signal, related to a total count of intersections which it has stored, to the horizontal playing image velocity control. The horizontal playing image velocity control, in turn, controls the horizontal speed of the ball image partially in response to the playing parameters of the game and partially in response to a manual switch closing affected by a player.
