Abstract: A Pb-based overlay alloy of a plain bearing contains 3%-20% of In and more than 0.5% to 9% of Sb, and, preferably 0.1%-5% of Ag, Cu, Ni, and/or Mn, and exhibits improved properties at a high temperature and corrosive condition of deteriorated lubricating oil.
Abstract: A vertical incinerator for burning general refuses and industrial wastes which comprises a plurality of sets of grates disposed at different levels within a furnace to divide the furnace into a plurality of combustion chambers in such a manner that the refuse charged into a top portion of the furnace is burnt as it is successively allowed to move downward to become ashes which are withdrawal from the bottom of the furnace.
Abstract: A catalyst for hydrotreating a heavy hydrocarbon oil containing asphaltenes comprises a porous carrier composed of one or more inorganic oxides of at least one element selected from among those of Groups II, III and IV of the Periodic Table, and at least one catalytic metal component composited with the carrier. The metal of the catalytic metal component is selected from among those of Groups VB, VIB, VIII and IB of the Periodic Table. The catalyst contains about 1 to 30% by weight of such catalytic metal component and has the following pore characteristics with regard to its pores having a diameter of 75 .ANG. or more: an average pore diameter APD of about 180 to 500 .ANG., a total pore volume PV, expressed in cc/g, being equal to or greater than a value X ##EQU1## the volume of pores with a diameter of about 180 to 500 .ANG. being at least about 0.2 cc/g, the volume of pores with a diameter of at least 1,500 .ANG. being not greater than about 0.03 cc/g, and a total surface area being at least about 60 m.

Abstract: A block copolymer latex composition comprising (A) an aqueous latex containing at least one of block copolymers consisting of conjugated diolefin blocks and monovinyl-substituted aromatic compound blocks prepared by solution-polymerization, and having a molecular weight of 5,000 to 500,000 and a content of monovinyl-substituted aromatic compound of 10 to 70% by weight, and (B) a latex of rubber system, latex of synthetic resin system or a mixture thereof, the composition containing 5 to 87% by weight of (A) and 95 to 13% by weight of (B) in terms of solid matters, has very superior film-forming properties and provides films having improved strength.
