Abstract: A method of transferring a decorative stenciled image to an irregular object utilizes flexible plastic static cling sheet material as the stencil medium. The cutout stencil is shaped approximately to the size of the surface of the object that will receive the image and conforming the stencil medium to the surface smoothly, adhering the sheet material such that the static cling attribute of the material will bond to the object's surface without lifting or breaking that would cause gaps or bubbles. The method is completed by well-known steps of applying stencil ink or paint by brush or other suitable applicator, removing the stencil medium and optionally curing the image by baking or other fixation step.
Abstract: A soft-sided splint for rest and therapy of a stressed joint is constructed of fabric and batting and stiffened by one or more battens running the length of the generally tubular shape of the splint. Specific shapes within the generally tubular shape are designed to restrain and hold an affected joint in a resting position comfortably so that the splint can be worn for extended periods including throughout the night and easily removed and re-applied without cumbersome attachment methods. In the preferred embodiment for treatment of wrist injuries, a sleeve extending from the fingers to the elbow contains a foam ball sewn into the construction at the location of the wearer's palm and a thumb-hole to position and secure the splint on the wearer's forearm.
Abstract: A training device for golfers consists of a flexible fabric sleeve and a pocket containing a lengthwise concave metallic strip positioned at the outside of the players elbow on the leading arm of the player (left arm for right handed player). Positioning the strip to the outside of the radius of flexion of the joint and over the bony protrusion of the ulna (the olecranon) as a fulcrum causes the strip to audibly deform at a small and precise degree of movement of the joint. The sleeve does not restrict flexion of the elbow, but since a straight arm non-flexed position of the arm is desirably maintained from the backswing and to the follow through, any flexion will cause the metallic strip to audibly emit a clicking sound, alerting the player to erroneous form.
Abstract: A lockable molded box enclosure is configured to contain and store several types and quantities of instruments commonly used for dental hygiene home use, such as toothbrushes and dental floss. The box includes a lid or door and a latch that must be operated in order to gain access to the instruments contained therein, and the latch is constructed to be operated by inserting an instrument related to the steps involved in dental hygiene. The preferred embodiment discloses a box with a hinged lid and a latch operable by inserting a length of dental floss tautly held and downwardly pressed into a slot formed by the edge of the lid and the edge of the box opening, such that the length of floss will depress a spring-biased locking tab.
Abstract: A self adjustable spring-loaded brace for use in securing large objects such as cargo within a ship's hold is described consisting of a section of metal tubing with a specialized fitting at one end and at the other end a unitary spring-loaded plunger-cartridge assembly.
Abstract: A holder for modern drafting pens is described consisting of a grasping handle and platform supported at three points, two of the supports being friction glide feet and the third point being the end tip itself which is connected to the platform via an adaptor plate containing a threaded hole which engages the threads on the barrel of the pen.
Abstract: An ashtray open at the top for supporting burning cigarettes and collecting cigarette butts is mounted over a small battery driven DC motor which drives a closed face centrifical fan which, when activated, draws air and smoke through a replaceable cartridge filter element mounted between the fan and ashtray, expelling cleansed air at the bottom.
